Oh I'm not saying they are or aren't same springs as the sports. Just a big difference in suspension between the 14 down NISMO and the 15+ that's what they were going for though and they achieved it. Ride comfortably I do agree it is much softer and can ride for hours without much discomfort. I think that's what the OP is getting at though. Reviews complained so much about how rigid and stiff it was Nissan apparently tried to address that and did. However the NISMO is suppose to be a track ready car I don't know what people complained about. It wasn't sold as a luxury car it was sold and marketed as an aggressive sports car designed with track in mind. Just my 2 cents

I hear you. I think the only thing I really disagree with is the level of difference between the two. I really feel only a little difference in stiffness. A big gap between either NISMO version and the Sport 370Z, but not much difference between the NISMOs.

I would really like to see the spring rate numbers but I can't find any - Nissan is still quoting the same percentage stiffness increase front to rear that they were for the '14 and all we get as far as details from the magazines is "re-tuned suspension."

Personally I'd rather have the best suspension I can live with daily and I think Nissan did a great job with it, for my purposes. Like it's dialed back just enough I can stand it for 3+ hours.

I think what people expected from the NISMO varies. I expected something like a "Sport+" 370Z. I expected it to be harsh and stripped down, and it was. And, I liked it...

Except after a while I missed having the better stereo and seats, because the interior just doesn't say "This is a 40K+ car." It was great on my 50 mile round-trip to work or go go driving for an hour or so, but once I drove it back and forth to my friend's house 2 or 3 times on those rough northern Indiana highways and wondered if I still had my fillings or if I would ever be able to sit fully upright again, I began to wish for something a little more liveable.

BTW OP, you are correct, Nissan needs to update the web site.

Could it be a combination of new suspension changes and aero / downforce that would be causing the looseness at high speeds?

This Nismo 2015 review suggests this...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsrNnW_BYxM

I've driven a number of pre-2015s and love the feel of the car and never felt loose at high speeds, but I have yet to drive a 2015.

Unfortunately I agree with his review that's almost exactly what I think about the aerodynamics and changes they've made. He pretty much hit it on the head.

Oh and to answer your question yes I believe it has to do with the aerodynamics (aggressive more open front bumper). Seems the suspension changes have loosened the car quite a bit and even though some don't "like" the 14 and down Nismo spoiler it seems like it does add some downforce? Since no one seems to have done a direct comparison and shown the exact changes side by side it's hard to tell. Unless someone uncovered something I have not.

When I bought my 2014 they had a 2015 sitting right next to it. So of course I had to test drive it. Now the 2015 was an AT so it wasn't exactly apples to apples, but I felt it was a little looser and softer. I also felt like it had a little more sound deadening inside, the road noise wasn't as bad as the 14 in my opinion. At the end of the day the 2014 won out for me. I liked the body kit, track feel, and MT of the 2014 over the 2015.

Well they did do some tweaking starting with the 13s. Something about Euro-tuned suspension, but my memory may be a little off. I think it was right with the 09s. As much as I don't like the direction that they took, they did the right thing by offering all of the touring type stuff that you could get in Japan in the 09 NISMO. I just don't like the new NISMO look. Just give me the fog light and the running lights and I am happy!
