2014 or 2015 same cost which one!?
It's not costing me anything I like the rims and look of the 2014. However anything better about the 2015 both are new no tech package of it was you and it wasn't costing additional which would you choise. I don't like the rims of the 2015 and how it has no spoiler really but I do like the body kit. Just looking for some opinions.
Thanks Nef |
2015 no doubt. I get so many compliments on it. The Recaros alone make the car.
|
Changing the rims wheels will be cheaper than trying to get a set of those Recaro seats.
So if you like everything on the 15 except the wheels then get it and buy new wheels. Can add a spoiler later as well. |
I don't have a 2015 Nismo around me to actually look at these seats your referring to are standard with the Nismo base? What makes them so special? I find the seats in the 2013 to be pretty comfortable.
|
These things hug you like you are still in the womb. They are half leather and half alcantara. They are standard on 2015 Nismo. Take a look at the pic. Nuff said.

looks like it will get dirty  I like the black and red stitching a little better on the 14s but I do see what you mean that does look more comfortable.
Oh and speedfreak if it was just the rims then I would say ya I could always trade later I'm sure someone would want these over their 14 rims just like I like the 14s better etc. to each their own. The spoiler though... it's built into the hatch and I was reading that the hatch had to be redesigned to have this fit or maybe it was a review either what it's built into the damn thing so it's not like I can switch hatches? Last I'm wondering if my Takeda Attack will fit it like the 09-14s not that I like it that much but I just bought it like 105 miles on it -.- |
I will personally deliver my Nismo seats to you if you buy a '15 Nismo and don't want the seats. ;) I'm not kidding.
|
Get what you like.
The '15 Nismo also has the dark gray metallic trim inside the car instead of the silver. You really need to look at the car or take your time and study all of the pics you can find. |
I would deliver my Touring seats to you for the '15 Nismo seats. They are all black and I can make the stitching red. Just so you know you have options. Me and SS_Firehawk are here to help.
Note: I am only around 6+ hours away. |
Thanks but no.. I would be keeping those. Just saying looks like they would get dirty / wear overtime.. It's really just asthetics and a gear ratio change right minus the seats... I've read reviews been on the forums can't seem to find a substantial difference except the ratio and seats? Same car different looks is what I'm getting.
|
Anyone else have opinions or advice? Does anyone know if the cold air intakes will fit the new bumper like the gen 3 or my takeda attack?
|
I believe the Stillen Gen 3 would need a slight mod to fit the 2015. That being said I was told by a reputable tuner you don't need an aftermarket CAI on the 2015. Won't make much difference compared to the cost. Unless you like it for aesthetics only.

Read the next line after what you highlighted. The increase vs cost was not worth the money.

No reason to argue over CAI guys I already have just wanted to know if it would fit. I like them end of story. I agree with both of you... I appreciate the input you both brought still undecided though on which way to go.
Just found out there is no number plate on the 2015 that's a sad day since that is what is really what identifies a true Nismo besides the VIN. Anyway I'm leaning towards a 2015 now since I think it will hold up value over time plus I'll find a way to shove a damn spoiler on there and trade someone for rims... That's what I'm thinking anyway. I have to decide by tuesday so time is getting short. |
Nef,
I just emailed you pics. Let me know if you don't get them. BTW, my local dealer has a 2014 Brand new Nismo that they can't give away. It's been sitting there for over 6 months easy. I think they are asking in the high $30k range for it. Nick |
Hey Nick I didnt get them sending you a pm
Thanks, Nef |
Resent pics
|
Got them thanks man I appreciate it I think I made up my mind on that. And ya I'm thinking white myself. Did your rays at least come with lug locks because mine did, I can't tell in the pic but it does look like it.
|
It sounds like you want the 14... Go with your gut. There's loads to love about the pre 15 Nismo body design. You don't seem crazy about the new seats which is a big seller for the 15, so I say go with the 14. Good luck with your choice!
|
A 14' Nismo in the high 30's is a great deal. I spent $42,600 on mine in 14' and it's a 13' model. Only thing it didn't come with is the backup camera thing in the mirror. Be careful for superfluous markups. My car stickered at $47,000; they were charging $250 for lug nuts, door guards, pinstripes (it didn't have any [and I don't want those], anti theft, interior treatment, exterior treatment, and all kinds of other BS. I wish I was colorblind, so I didn't have to like this color and trade my old Z in.
Anyways, just keep an eye on the fine print, they will skip right pass it if it's there. |
Price isn't a factor in this decision again either way I go it's costing my nothing it's just body style difference. I'm torn just due to asthetics now if there was a big performance difference well that would be a different story. Since their both readily available. It really just comes down to which year is better... Though seems that there is no absolute answer just preference.

If you swap out the wing on the 2015 you'll have a bit of overhang on the rear bumper. It sits out further compared to the trunk lid due to the wing.
Also gearing is a bit different in the 7at in the 2015 nismo. |
I decided on the 2015... I picked it out today. The closest white was over 300 miles away unless I wanted a white 7AT  it was 100 miles away however they had a magnetic black within an hours drive. They had a red 14 and a black 15 just looking at the two I overall enjoyed the aesthetics of the 15. I might even keep the rims. I did notice there is a deck for the 2015 so that spoiler seems to be removable and if so I probably will go aftermarket once someone makes a decent one that looks or is the same as the 14' but you can't beat the new front bumper and rear bumper design. The 2015 felt a lot looser in the handling than I was expecting though I'm going to have to watch that when I'm weaving in and out of traffic :driving: I appreciate everyone's thoughts and opinions on the matter.
Especially CoralZ for sending me pictures of his. I guess you'll have day and I'll have night :) although that white does look really good and black gets dirty soooo easily. It'll just give me more incentive to continue to wash and have it waxed like I should do anyway. As for the seats well I could tell a difference but not much to be honest I'm a small guy though maybe that's why.. Of course material was and looks but as far as sitting in they felt comfortable just not a big difference as far as posture or feel while seated or driving to me anyway. Kinda have to pull yourself out of the "womb" though as someone once put it lol It will be a week or so before she is in my hands they are finishing up the fine touches. She is suppose to be off the lot though so the same mileage better be there when I get back ;) Lastly I will update with pics once she is finally in my hands :pics: took a few today but don't want to jynx anything by posting before my name is on her. And where do you get clear bras at? Tint shops? Vinyl shops? It's a clear tint / vinyl coating right? |
Congrats Nef, can't wait to see some pics.
|
Thanks can't wait to have her in my hands :)
Where do you get clear bra work done at? I'm definitely going to need to do this since my last paint was horrible.. I'm thinking roof, hood, bumper and both front fenders should do it? Or just do the whole damn thing and be done? |

I voted for the 2015
Comparing the 2014 and 2015 is like night and day. I transitioned from a manual transmission to the automatic with the 7-speed and paddle shifters. I was reluctant to do so because I've always enjoyed shifting but now I'm glad I did.
The front facia has an aggressive look to it now compared to the 2014 front bumper....certainly "announces" your presence in the rear-view of the guy in front of you! LoL The red paint accents give the car more curb-appeal to as do the redesigned rocker panels and the new rear spoiler. I had a 2010 NIsmo with the whale tail and it didn't seem to "flow" with the design of the car overall but I could live with it. The Recaro seats are so good, I don't shift around during aggressive driving thru the twists at all! My white 2015 Nismo is equipped with the tech package which is an added bonus. The Bose system with 2 subwoffers can crank out some serious music and at loud volumes the speakers don't get over-powered/distorted. The fit & trim of the interior is so good that nothing buzzes other than the radar sector cord! The GPS & map finder works exceptionally well as do ALL the other features of the tech package...certainly worth the extra expense. The Homelink mirror is nice because I don't need to have an ugly garage door opener on the sun visor that keeps popping off onto the floor board. Odd thing is that with my 2010 Nismo, I had to replace the stock stereo system (I also replaced the rear view mirror with a Homelink unit) because at the higher volume levels which were needed to cover the drone of the road noise...the car was very loud, especially when the tires needed replacement. I spent nearly as much to upgrade that 2010 Nismo (totaling over $44,000 with the cost of the car and the upgrades) as I did for my new 2015 ($45,800) but with factory installed options, automatic, aerodynamic upgrades, new sound deadening materials, new styling features, and Recaro seats! In my book...it was a no-brainer! Just my 2 cents Regards Stephen Newton:driving: |
As promised CoralZ, I'm happy with her :) One thing I don't understand is why they put two speaker spots behind the seats and no sound comes out same with my old 2013? I don't have the tech pack of course or bose but it seems kind of pointless to have speaker spots with no speakers lol

She looks awesome Nef. I really like the black too.
It's funny you mention the speakers. Can you post a pic of them. When I first test drove the car at one dealer and left, later on me and my wife swore we saw two speakers in between the seats. That car had the tech package. I ended up getting the same car from a different dealer but it didn't have those two speakers. My wife and I thought we were nuts. I searched the Internet and Nissans website but could find no info or pics about them so I chalked it up to remembering it wrong. Crazy though. I may have to contact Nissan about it. Nick Quote:

You're talking about the bose package I believe and yes I've seen picks of them between the seats behind you. But what I'm referring to you can actually see in picture 2 right behind the passenger seat and in front of the brace there is a round speaker sport like a tweeter size slot on both sides but no noise comes out so I'm assuming there is no speakers there... I also noticed them in the 2013 when I was making sure it was clean and everything was removed last night I didn't even know they were there. I don't know if this is intentional? I'm just confused because I was told any aftermarket speakers voids the warranty. What if there is no speakers there though lol If you try and fade to the back no noise. On the 2013 if I faded to the back just my tweeters on the dash would work. I'm just confused as to what is going on? Is it a six speaker setup or a four and if it is a four why have speaker slots with no speakers?
|
It's for the Bose package. They didn't make two panels. One for non Bose and one with. Plus for those not wanting Bose but want to upgrade their sound system can do so.
|
Ya thanks for the reply I read it last night under the audio section. I might eventually run speakers to there. I wouldn't want bose anyway too resticted and pricey vs aftermarket quality and price
