Default Gone.

The nismo is gone. With my son just being born I could no longer hold onto the car. Personal reasons, but lets just say I purged all my bills and debt. Picked up a little family car for the wife and kid. "A4 2.0L T)

Not out of the game yet though. Also picked up a 1970 datsun 240Z for a few grand and have a buddy with a slightly beat 7.4L LSX hes going to sell me to rebuild for next to nothing plus trade of things I dont need. Currently makes about 840 at the crank SC. Over time I will modernize the suspension and brakes, and TRY to make it something other than a straight line monster lol.

I will miss my nismo, problems and all. But I wont miss the pricetag or cost of upkeep.

yea i'm slightly confused too. was your nismo made of gold?

sold a nismo, purged debt, bought an audi, bought a 240 and looking at a $25k crate engine when new. doesn't make sense really and the upkeep cost on a Z really that high.

You continue to thoroughly confuse me. You thought Nismo upkeep was expensive, so instead you bought an Audi?

Regardles, good luck in your new endeavors

i mean running 93 octane must be tough......but let's get a LSX engine which requires 110 in it. that's not pricey or anything

haha yeah i know guys. it sounds crazy but I picked up all that stuff for cash. I own them now. I paid 4500 for the A4 "2006" with 90k miles on it. And less than that for the Datsun, it needs some work.

So the difference now is im not making monthly payments on ANYTHING. Went from broke as **** to pretty well off now. Never again will I ever purchase something I cannot pay for in cash. And yes :P I have a savings fund for the kid couple hundred bucks a month.

lol well that makes a bit more sense but I won't be surprised when your repairs/upkeep on the $4500 Audi exceed the repairs/upkeep on your $40K Nismo in less than a year

true lol. I didnt mean gas. It was the car payment of 850+ 150 insurance a month that was killing me. plus having to replace the SCS twice, rev match issues, a key light that never went away, and several other dumb issues was a lot for a car that went bye bye with 15k miles on it.

your not the only one that told me that lol. Maybe I should have listened....... oh well, it was cheap enough I could sell it and probably break even. We will see, whats a reliable little 4 door 4 wheel drive family car you would recommend?

The crate motor cost me next to nothing due to mostly trades on other things I had no use for. From back in my swap meet muscle car days. Also.... I did mention its slightly beat. So yes, some rebuilding is in order but it wont even BEGIN to touch 25 grand lol.

Bought it from boardman nissan in Ohio. Thats what I get for having poopy credit and hardly any down payment. It also had to be special ordered in and I stupidly decked it out with every check in the box. Including gap, extended warranty, and every other rip off service you DONT need. Not going to lie.... I was an idiot toolbag when I bought the car. Humble lesson learned I suppose. Needless to say it was not 40k. I WISH it was.
