Pulled the trigger....

So for the longest time I had been looking for a decent used Z with the sport package, touring package (with Navi) and a manual. After awhile I learned that these are about as common as unicorns.

I finally found one with all the options I wanted and 745 miles on it at a dealership in Minneapolis (about 7 hours from me). I was actually flying into the city for a bachelor party so it worked out to let the salesman I was working with know that I would be in town, if I liked it I would put money down on it and drive back the following weekend to trade in my Altima on it.

Long story short, he pulls it out of storage to clean it up and have it on the lot for me that Friday, I can't get there till Saturday......someone walks in off the street and buys it that Friday. I swear I am one of those guys that if I didn't have bad luck I probably wouldn't have any at all.

While I was there and reeling from this devastating blow I noticed they had a couple of nice black Nismo's on the lot. I have to admit I wasn't the biggest fan of the Nismo while shopping online. I really wanted the more refined interior (leather, Navi etc) and I felt the Nismo wing (which some affectionately refer to as the park bench) was a little too aggressive for me.

But it's true what they say, once you see the Nismo in person it just sucks you in, almost like the dark side. They literally have 23 pre-owned Z's on the lot but I just kept getting drawn back to the Nismo.

Long story short I put money down on a 2013 Magnetic Black Nismo. It's loaded with the backup camera, illuminated kicks, and the bose package (which I could probably live without).

I'm heading back 4th of July weekend to pick her up. Here are a few pictures, they aren't the greatest as it was raining pretty hard when I took them.

I enjoy these forums immensely and looking forward to being part of the Z family.

Cheers!

It's actually my shopping cart handle! Glad you came to the dark side! She looks wonderful!

Plus North Dakota...hell you will be the only Z driving around let alone Nismo! :p

Long Story Short....Welcome to the Club and Congrats!!!! :happydance: Did you buy her second hand or was she a clearance? What did you get her for and what was her mileage?

I like how the nismo's and 2012 and down front bumpers look, but now that I have the 14 370z and got use to the DRL's, ya'lls front bumpers look naked :ugh: use to be the other way around besides I would say, the hell they put DRL's on it for

Yeah, I work out in the western part of the state...the gong show also known as the Bakken Oilfileds.

It's Mustang, Camaro, and Charger country out here, I haven't seen any Z's let alone Nismo's.....should be interesting :D

I got her second hand. 13k miles on it. Worked them down to 33K which I felt pretty good about since Edmunds and KBB list it around 36-37k fair dealer price. Has a clean car fax record and is in immaculate shape.

I don't pick her up till the 4th, it feels like that is about 6 months away.

Congrats! You're going to enjoy the long drive back. Watch out for rock chips though...maybe tape up your front bumper.

Yeah that is what I am worried about. I should be pretty safe as long as I am on the interstate (which goes the entire way) I would never ever drive it where there is oilfield traffic on some of the smaller highways around here. My work truck is brand new and has already been punished by rocks.

First of all congrats and welcome! I have the 2014 Nismo, I wanted black, but I didn't like the black grey contrast on the 2014 so I went with the pearl white. Honestly though, the Mag Black 2013 is gorgeous, you chose well! If they had stayed one solid color for 2014 I would have the black one. Post some pics once you get her home.

I agree with RoyalityB... I got a PW 2014 Nismo. I wished they made it one solid color or at least gave us the choice if we wanted 2 tone or not otherwise I would of went with all Black.

Hello and grats on the new ride! That wait is going to seem to take centuries but it will be worth it! I love the color, if I didn't get magma red I would have went with mb myself

Thanks guys!

7.5 hour trip back in heavy 4th of July traffic. I was pretty excited but also nervous/anxious at the same time. Basically had to learn how to drive the car. Don't get me wrong I have driven a manual before plenty of times but the Nismo is no ordinary manual. Had to get used to the clutch points on it. By the time I got out of the metro area and opened her up it was an incredible feeling. So much power, so responsive. The steering and the suspension is so tight. Side-note: I don't recommend driving the Nismo hungover on a 7.5 hr trip as it's true what they say, you truly feel every single bump and dip in the road haha.

All in all an incredible trip though. As other threads have stated, they draw so much attention. You can sit at a stop light and look around and see everyone staring at you. I stopped at a Subway to eat and the staff was taking photos of it. The car just commands respect and I love it.

I'll get some photos of her up in the next week. It's going to a close friend's shop to get tinted and detailed and I will post some after.

Thanks again to everyone for the warm welcome. I've been on other car forums before and this one's by far the best.

Good intro and good story. Glad you finally got her home. Nice little 7 1/2 hr road trip to get to know the new ride... perfect. Congrats & welcome. Pics after the tint & detail.
