My Dream Car [Seattle]
I am the proud new owner of a 2011 Magnetic Black Nismo 370Z! I am so excited as this has been my dream car for a looooong time (since I was a kid in 2003)! I ended up getting a great deal on the thing. Certified, 16k miles, beautiful paint, weathertech mats, clear bra, lojack. This thing has been BABIED. Well at least, until now.... my friend drove it home because I didn't drive stick yet, so I've been a little hard on the clutch but I've gotten the hang of it pretty quickly.
Anyways, been reading a lot of posts on the forum, planning out what all I want to do to it in the future. Already threw in the Polk 6501 kit last weekend to get rid of those awwwwwwful stock speakers... Looking forward to being a part of this awesome community! |

I'm in Puyallup currently but will be moving closer to the city within the year.

Welcome
Did you do the speaker install yourself? And how does it sound?

Yup! Installed myself! Hardest part was getting it threaded through the door hinge tube.
It sounds awesome! I noticed distortion on the stock system at any elevated levels, with this the limiting factor is definitely the head unit now. Have to keep my iPhone at about 85% volume and keep the car volume at a max of about 24 before it starts to distort, which is plenty loud enough to make my ears ring a bit Next step will be the head unit once Pioneer/Alpine come out with CarPlay supported heads this summer. I also added some red accents this afternoon à la the '14 Nismo.

Love the Polks! I don't think anything more expensive would be worth the money, they're flawless.

Not to be "that guy," but take care of your ears, mate. You want to keep being able to listen to music as you get older.
And welcome! Beautiful car and good choice. Also, big props picking up learning manual on it! (I wasn't brave enough when I got my 7AT last year, but soon....yes, soon....) |

It wasn't all that hard to learn manual. If you generally know how it works, then it's just getting the muscle memory down. Stalling it sucks but it's pretty quick to learn. Hill starts are still a bitch, but other than that I'm pretty comfortable after about 3 weeks.
