'14 Pearl White Nismo
1 Attachment(s)
Got my 2014 Nismo a month and a half ago after riding a motorcycle as a daily driver for 4 years. Thanks to an unfortunate fortunate situation in which my GSXR-1000 was stolen I decided to use my insurance money to buy my Nismo. Needless to say I couldn't be happier...except that I immediately wanted more HP.
Looks, undeniable...to me, power a bit lacking for my liking. After some mild research I was convinced that a Stillen S/C and exhaust etc. would fill that need. However, after reading here and talking with others at the local SoCal meet it seems like that may not be the way to go. I would go TT, but costs a little more than I would like. From some of the things I learned I may want to stay NA, but want to get as much HP/TQ as possible. I want reliability and obviously not going FI would certainly make that more of a possibility...I'm open to suggestions for S/C, TT and NA. With so many posts it would be hard to find exactly what I'm looking for, so I'm hoping my fellow forum peeps can give some ideas that might help or guide me to posts or ideas that will help with my decision. Glad to be a part of such a great community of car owners. Special thanks to Waizz for introducing me to everyone and his feedback regarding my impending changes. |
Hey, it was good meeting you, I'm Andrew the one talking you out of the Stillen saying you'll need way more than a 25 row oil cooler

Should I have posted my query somewhere else? I appreciate all the congrats, but really do want some input as to where I should go with my build. Any ideas please feel free to PM me. Like I told Wais, I already have an appointment for my Stillen install, but after talking to him (and others) I definitely feel like I need more info before fully committing. Sorry for the noob question, but I am a noob to the forum and forums in general :hello: LOL |
:welcome: and congrats!

Research, research, research. After 8 months of owning mine I feel like I'm now getting a real sense of what should and should not be done with these cars. My advice... take it slow. Most will point you towards the TT build. As long as you don't overdo it and do all the supporting mods, reliability won't be an issue. There's hundreds of threads to research and most will have the answers you are looking for. Anyhow, welcome and good luck! |

In my opinion only
Beside the cost going N/A has other good things going.
All you need to do are 3 things. Change the gear ration to 4:08. Remove the cats & replace them with test pipes. Then get a Osiris tune/raise redline limit. With that you'll get that kick in the pants feel with very little worry of breakage or problems. Test tubes however will give you a raspy exhaust sound..... Good luck.... |
