i smell something burning when driving. I don't think I'm riding the clutch though.. this smell never occured to me before when i test drove and stuff. so i do not know if it's the clutch or just new car smell.

I also went into limp mode?? 5 minutes into driving, after stalling once or twice, temperature was at 210 but even with pedal to the metal, car accelerated like a prius.

another thing is, front hood weatherstrip seems to stick out quite alot when i close the hood. much more noticeable than the picture and weatherstrip stick out in the gap and zigzags all the way across. Is this normal?

Thanks for all the inputs throughout my wait!

The burning smell you are smelling is normal. Also you don't want to be slamming the car around like it's got 10,000 miles on it. Drive it normal. The best thing for it is to go on the highway then take a city street. Stop and go kinda street to where you can go from 35 to 55 then back down. You have to break the engine in before you can start hammering on the engine.
I say this after a buddy of mine, master mechanic for almost 30yrs, told me how to break a brand new engine. The limp mode problem is beyond me but you might be doing the opposite of what I just said and could be causing the issue. I don't know to be honest.
The hood issue. I've noticed I can't just softly close like my last Z. So I slam it shut, not hard but I drop it from about 2 feet. I'm sure it's just the new seals that are creating the issue.
Good luck with her!!!:driving:

Oh yeah I bought mine with 17miles on her...now sitting at 1021 after a month..

thank you!! even though I've been aware of all these situations before the purchase, I realized that owning and experiencing it myself is completely different. good to know all is normal!

You will also start to here a rattle when you idle. This is also normal. It's the tranny telling you it's not happy sitting still. You've got to remember these cars were designed to run hard. They really don't like to just scoot around town. After about 2000 miles the seals and gaskets should be good for you to run the car and have the fun that comes with it.

I ordered my GM Nismo 3 weeks ago. Im on this forum every day as I can't wait for mine to arrive. I understand new car issues, as I have bought many, to include my current 350Z. But, I'm concerned about the "unprovoked limp mode" among other things ... Nissan engineers are smart guys making cars that should be halfway bulletproof when new... I find this a little troubling ... I still want my Nismo
