Nismo or 40th Ann version
I dont have a Z....YET!!!
But I am down to choosing one or the other. I have been told by the wife the motorcycles have to go. (actually 6 of my friends have crashed in the last month, and I am scared now too) I have the Z hook in my mouth, and I cant decide. What are the Pros of the Nismo over the 40th? Other than the seats and little badges, that I can see. Brakes, exhaust, performance, etc. and how do they get that other 30 horses out of the Nismo? |

i've read that they aren't sure how they managed to get that 350 hp reading from the nismo, but thats beside the point. They are both going to be more exclusive and neither of them have navigation. Special wheels on both, same transmission. Body kit on Nismo could be a PRO if you like it. seems like the body kit and the "extra power" are the only edge the nismo have on the 40th. if 40th had factory nav, i'd take it in a heart beat over the nismo, considering it doesn't, its your call. do you want red leather seats, or a body kit. thats going to be the most striking difference IMO.
both are awesome. you can get a fully loaded sport/touring/nav 6mt for less than either though. |

Part of the extra HP on Nismo is from the exhaust..
Also, the suspension is a lot firmer. Front and rear body dampers. Nismo reinforced front strut tower brace. If you're looking for a more comfortable ride, go with the 40th. |

the Nizmo difference:
I figure that an aftermarket exhaust can be put on to achieve part of the 50 horses. The ECU programing differences, I am not sure. I am a GM man, so I know that ya just go buy a reprogrammer and your set. Is Nissan that simple? I find that hard to choce down, but OK...but the suspension upgrades. Are similar performance upgrages going to be able to (reasonably) obtained via aftermarket? The harsh ride doesnt bother me. Keep in mind, I am getting off a sportbike into a car. Everything is smoother than the Ninja. Last edited by RipperFox; 06-30-2010 at 02:34 PM. |

you can buy a body kit, you cant buy all the red interior from a 40th, but i have a 40th and im just taking up for it, lol
if i didnt get the 40th i would have got the nismo, so either one you choose your gonna love it. |

I'm, somewhat, partial to the 40ths. The Nismo is a nice model, it definitely stands out from regular models with the body kit, wheels, etc. Handling may be a tad better due to the firmer suspension, wider tires/wheels, but those performance enhancements didn't wow me over like the exterior/interior features of the 40th anni Z.
From the unique Quartz color, gunmetal colored wheels, red brake calipers and red/black interior...it was pretty much a "no-brainer" for me. In the end, you'll have to pick the model "YOU" will be happy with. Take a look at each in person and decide for yourself.

I think about it all day. I dream about it. And I dont even have one yet. Its like I caught OCD from that fricken white one I sat in at the dealer. I havent even driven one yet!! and I think about it more than sex. Of course I am a bit of a adreniline junkie, put my Ninja ZX14 up for sale to buy one of these obsessive little canyon carvers. i opted for the nismo and love it... Picked nismo over the 40th and the new 335is.
got it 6/9/10 and now 1900 miles on it....Makes my gf's 4.4 litre X5 feel like a bus. BTW, nismo = my first sports car. Been riding a 4runner for 12yrs... still running... |

I purchased the Nismo and couldn't be happier! The 40th is nice, but you need to decided what you will be happy with. Go test drive them both, that is what sold me on the Nismo.
