Sorry if I missed it but what shop is doing the install? I'd like to give them a call about the center gauges on the '13-16 years.

Sorry to hear your troubles. Sucks when things don’t go as you plan. That’s why I’m a big fan of DIY but you have to be comfortable you can do the job. Last edited by jwick; 05-25-2018 at 12:36 AM. |

Can someone explain to me why after flashing the tune with UpRev that check engine light would happen and it pulling tons of fuel and misfires?

I’m pretty sure TopgunZ could help steer you through this; even though you don’t have his upgrade version,,,he’s probably the most experienced.
The location of the mafs have been an issue in the past- but I’m surely no expert on the kit.

The problem I’m finding is the position of the MAFs which causes turbulence and inaccurate readings. The car needs a new MAP sensor and need to be mapped to the MAP sensor and air temperature rather than the MAFs
I’m just going through the process of getting mine set up correctly.

You may want to do an etune with someone who knows the cars a little better...if you use the Stillen base map you are looking at a really conservative tune...maybe 380 whp.

My understanding on UpRev is there are 2 ways of tuning. Street tune were you download the data files then send the data files to Uprev then they send you back a tune. The other way is you go to a dyno and have them tune it with dyno. Am I missing something? Does the dyno/tune shop have to be UpRev certified or can it be a regular dyno/tune shop. Also wouldn’t taking it to the Dyno/tune shop fix everything and check engine light regarding the misfire code? Why if they were taking it to the Dyno/tune shop would they need a new file from Uprev just because of a check engine light?

The UpRev tune might be locked. If that’s the case then the shop isn’t actually doing anything but uploading the tune and verifying power on the dyno. You could actually upload the tune yourself. If the tune isn’t locked then the shop is just using UpRev as a starting point so they don’t have to build the entire file from scratch. VQs are tricky to tune and I wouldn’t want just anyone building the tune from scratch.
On a topic listed above, the location of the MAFs is the primary problem with the Stillen kit. They are preSCer which basically means the ECU has no clue what temperature air it is receiving. |

Ok update:
they originally sent the shop the wrong tune so this morning they finally sent over the correct tune BUT, Uprev wants to update the software before the flash and of course Uprev website is down! I also tried and failed to get on. Is there a way to bypass the update so they can flash the new tune? Do you have to be connected to the internet to flash a tune file? Man one thing after another! |

https://www.uprev.com/ Is down. Screenshot attached
Called Uprev and the person on the phone told me he’s working on it but he’s stumped and has no idea when it will be back up. Also said that you can’t bypass the software update to flash a new tune. WOW! Last edited by cadoo; 05-25-2018 at 01:11 PM. |
