About and Want to be New Z owner
hi All,
Planning to get a 2014 Z and have a few questions: 1/ manual base with sport package. Is it worth to add the $3k for the sport package? 2/ is 2014 the last year model of the Z or newer model will be coming out in 2015? Should i wait? BTW, I have been waiting for almost 4 year to save up the money to get a Z 3/ want a white one, but none (with sport, except Tour/NISMO) available in my neck of the wood. However there is a black. Should I consider? 4/ any art of negotiating tips could I take from here to help me negotiate the best deal on the Z? Again, newbie and hopefully these questions are OK here . Many Thanks in advance... |

1 - I'd say yes. The Sport package is worth it. Both for you, and for resale value down the road.
2 - If the new Nismo is any indication, we'll probably be waiting until 2016 at the earliest for a major re-design or new version. As for just a new 2015 model, I imagine we will see those later this year - whatever they may be. 3 - White is sexy. Black is also sexy. I prefer white, but I would argue that a well kept and clean black car is hard to beat. Keeping it clean though, be prepared to put in a bit more effort than with other colors. If this is a car you're planning on keeping for a while, I'd say to broaden your search or wait for the 2015s to get the color you want. When you're investing this much in a car, you don't want to 'settle' for a color you didn't really want. You'll regret it for years. 4 - Read this helpful thread. I learned quite a bit of helpful stuff from it. New Car Buying 101. Please Read Before Buying Your Nissan 370Z |

Dark colors are beautiful when well-polished and waxed but they definitely take a lot of work. The Z is small, so pretty easy to do that. Still, my Pearl White Z is a lot easier to maintain than my Black Cherry was. If your prepared to get into machine polishing and put the time into maintenance, get the dark color...they're beautiful.
Get the Sport package. You'll get your money out of it on resale. I agree, 2016 likely before we see the Z35. |

Try true car. The 370z sells so poorly, you should be able to get a good deal on it. Should be able to go well below invoice. |

Hit up some of the Dealer/Sponsors on this site. Lou Fusz is a good one. Can pretty much find you EXACTLY what you are looking for.
+10000 For the Sports Package. Absolutely love mine. |

Yea make sure you get the color you want. The color pushed me to trade in for my Z. The sport packages is nice to have but also keep in mind that the 19" tires are more expensive than the 18's. I have the base model and the brakes are fine but if you plan to track it, go for the extra 3k and get them. I will upgrade my rotors and pads later with mine.
Good luck in your search!

Yes to sport package and get the color you want. My dealer had the cars marked pretty low already and I get X-Plan if I can't get the price low enough any other way.

Thank you all.
so far, do not see a lot of base model with manual and sport package around. I am trying to take advantage of the current manufacturer 0% finance incentive ('til 06/02) I am leaning toward to a black Z, but may want the white as it supposed to be a bit 'cooler' in the heat of Texas. But, the white(manual, sport package) seemed not available so far. One more question, would dealerships still stock more Z since it is mid-year and 2015 model maybe on the horizon after the 2015 Nismo Z was showcase past week. Again, many thanks! |

As for local, you're looking at black, silver or blue. As for black vs white when it comes to heat - come on man. You know how our summers get here in Texas. When your car is sitting out in your work parking lot in the 100+ degree sun for 5 hours and then you get in, you're never going to think "man, I'm sure I got the white one - this would have been hot if it were black". You're just going to be thinking "oh god it's hot!" regardless of color. I'd say grab that black one and enjoy it if that's the color you really want. Take a road trip if white is the color that makes you happy. |

The Z's don't sell well but there aren't many to buy either. You can pay invoice on them right now or wait until the 2015's come out or at end of year. This is really the best time to buy a car

Pearl White Sport is a nice choice if you can find it. No need to wait for a '15 because not much will change. If Magnetic Black, you will need a DA porter cable, polish, sealant, wax, lots of QD, lots and lots of quality micro fiber, and a closed garage. Now your set to begin modding after that. Enjoy your Z when it arrives.
Btw, dealerships don't want to sit on too many slow selling cars like the Z. It is for a niche customer. The customer base is just too narrow. The exception is if it's a big volume Nissan dealership.
