Ummm not sure. Lack of money is the biggest issue right now. I want to at least put a nice stereo and maybe a good sound system, something to get a lot more thump out of it. Not sure if I want to do the whole woofer thing, being that space is an issue. I wish I had the know-how or cash flow to mess with the performance and get the car to really move, but probably not in the near future. Anything you would suggest? Mine is stock right now, just did strong tint on all the windows.

I have the factory Bose system in my car and the sound is definitely there for me. If you're looking to add a sub I would do that same configuration where it mounts within the spare tire to keep the most room possible

Cool. I want to just put in a good Pioneer deck for now. I don't think I want to do the whole sub thing cuz I did that before on another car and it turned out horrible. Even with the stock (non-Bose) system and speakers there's still a decent thump. But I want to be able to have a touch screen, Bluetooth calling, and be able to stream music through Bluetooth. And I hear the Pioneer is a good deck too. What else have you done to yours?
And hi Andrew (6MT). |

Chava, Congrats on the Z and welcome aboard!
An inexpensive way to improve the sound of the current speakers in your car is to dynamat the doors and hatch. There is a DIY video on here somewhere, use the search function. I did it to mine and it makes a noticeable difference. It's not hard to do but it took me about 4 - 4 1/2 hours for both doors and the hatch. Buying the plastic tools to remove the interior parts of the Z and the dynamat on Amazon cost me approx $60, if memory serves me correctly. |
