Default Help me understand 370z exhaust components

Forgive my ignorance but I come from working on Mustangs and we had three exhaust components
1. headers
2. mid-pipe which included the cats (x or h pipe typically)
3. cutback which included the mufflers

I don't own a Z, just an enthusiast, so haven't had the chance to look under one but I'm confused by the fact that they seem to sell cutbacks (like the AAM short tails) that can also include a Y-pipe (and in some it says an H pipe), and then a test-pipe, then the headers.

I'm probably missing the obvious but in these cars (imports in general?) is the catalytic converter a separate piece from the mid-pipe? Someone just lay it out for me. /stupid question
