Almost bought a BRZ, but got myself a 370Z instead.
Hi folks, I was checking out a Scion FR-S but with lack of options, I went to Subaru for a BRZ Limited. For $2k you get a lot of bells and whistles... BUT that wouldn't be enough. I would need to get rid of them dinky, skinny tires and a better looking/sounding exhaust. That'll be another $3k probably. So it keeps on adding up. No matter the hype, so-called handling, "fun to drive", etc. at the end of the day, you still lacking power.
So... why not get a 370Z that's already has balls- wouldn't have to change a darn thing! I'm so happy with my purchase. I miss my 300ZX. Left to NY and I sold it to a friend. After 4 years and back in Los Angeles, I know my Pearl White 370Z will fill the void. It's raining now, can't get a good pic. But here's the inside. Notice I got the navigation package, only because I cant stand looking at the useless, cubby hole! http://www.michaeloen.com/ftp/20131219_183306.jpg Finally got around to putting up pictures HERE! |
Congratulations :)

congrats! the brz would have been underwhelming
|
Congrats on the Z. Good choice. I think I drove all the sport cars and muscle cars up to about $40K and I have to say the BRZ was my second favorite. It did seem to have some pretty good handling characteristics, but OMG does it need a turbo. I drove the Z and it was all over. Perfect balance of handling and performance. I'm happy too. Congrats again!

Beatiful setup! Just like mine! White was my foirst choice but there were none to be had. Do you have the Sport Package?

Yea. I'll show up. But mine may be boring, I'm not going to do any mods. Think it's good as is. I did get a clear bra/shield on it though. That's about it.

This video makes me wish I got a Z sooner!!!
|
^^ Nice vid.

Good choice and congrats. The cubby hole is definitely not useless!
|
the sport package is upgraded brakes, differential, and wheels. also SRM. nothing to do with stiffness or suspension. just an FYI

Im the opposite and went for the useless cubby hole as I cant stand Nav screens at night when driving, this will probs be my last car without one as the options for a vehicle lacking in a TV screen on the dash are getting more and more limited! |
Although I LOVE the BRZ in terms of feel/size/handling, it's hideously under-powered and not even close to the overall package that you decided on IMO. Great choice!
|
Exactly the same thing happened to me. I went and test drove the BRZ first, as my family has been pretty huge on Subaru's for some time (Dad has an STI, mom drives a Forester). I liked it, it was "fun", but had no guts. Got to the Nissan dealership, test drove the Nismo, loved the crap out of it, and bought it.
The Subaru dealership even called me to "make sure I hadn't bought a Nissan", hah! |
Congrats! Welcome aboard

Congrats, post up some pics. I love pearl white

Also I thought the springs were a little stiffer on sport vs non sport. But OP congrats on purchase. Before I got Z, I debated about FRS and Genesis coupe. |

And I gotta say, love the ipod hook up, Bluetooth audio and (still learning) the backup camera. |

Looks good, paint film is a must in my book and you did well to go with full hood. I've already got a chip not far past where my xpel ends.

I recently made the same choice and I'm glad I did.
|
Lol I almost bought an frs/brz until I test drove them. I was gonna get it for invoice and it still wasn't good enough.

Hi
|
Welcome
|
I made the same choice! I was looking at a BRZ Limited, but decided on the Z instead. I knew I wouldn't be happy with only 200 hp.
