Default New Member - Buying a 370Z

Hello everyone,

I'm currently about to purchase a car for myself and the 370Z is what I'd like to purchase.

I thought this would be the best place to ask questions related to the car.

I live in Dubai, so it's quite warm throughout the year and I wish to take it to the track every now and then. So what are some suggested mods or perhaps even necessities?

Also, what are the costs of running the car or anything that I should know about in general?

Thanks!

Welcome!

Well, if you're gonna take it to the track, look into some STILLEN parts for handling and forced induction. I would honestly stick with MISHIMOTO for the oil cooling system upgrade. Not sure if you're running nitrous for the dragstrip, but NOS systems tend to fit well and run well with stock Z cars.

As far as cost...umm my Z costs about $55.00 USD to fill with 91 octane fuel. Maintenance is usually just a $75.00 oil change every 4000 miles. The 370Z is well put-together. You shouldn't run into maintenance issues the first 2-3 years.

Since it's warm there, stick with a simple wheel company, maybe XXR? They have General G-Max tires that handle well in the heat, and are easily interchangeable with other XXR wheels.

Also look into a SEIBON carbon fiber hood and that hi power exhaust by HKS. This reduction is weight should help your lap times. If you don't plan on pushing your Z upwards of 120 miles a hour, don't bother with a rear spoiler or wing. But if so, CARBON CREATIONS makes a nice low-profile wing that helps with handling.

Lastly, expect to spend some money ($75-$200 USD) for random installation fees if you plan on having someone else install your stuff for you. Small, local shops tend to shy away from altering the 370Z for concern about damaging such a pretty machine. Hope this helps!
