We're going to pay for the amount of fun we have. If you want your car to be 70% transportation and 30% toy, and the dollars are applied similarly, you can justify using a sports car as primary transportation. If you can adjust to that kind of thinking, the Z is a wonderful car and usually considered a value in performance.

If the cost of fuel is an important factor in your decision, you're probably not going to enjoy owning any sports car. The difference in fuel economy isn't the whole cost to keep running. Aside from gas, oil changes can be over $100, tires are about $1500 every at least 15k miles, higher insurance, and replacement parts like brakes will cost more.
