Good morning from Germany!
Hi guys!
First of all: excuse my amateurish english. As you may noticed: I´m german I´m 21 years old and my hometown is near Wiesbaden. One year ago I bought a used '05 BMW e90 325i (pic related) and actually I´m very happy with it.. except one thing: the missing LSD. An e90 is not built for beeing a sportscar Don´t get me wrong! In my opinion the straight six 2.5l engine is a great piece of engineering and the e90 is a stunning looking car, especially with the M-package but I´m hungry for something that´s more like designed to perform! Last week I noticed that the Z is going to be facelifted and the price for a new car is to be reduced by 6k Euros I´m pretty sure that this price cutting will affect the costs for used 370s considerably. Good chance to pick up a Z! So what am i looking for? I don´t know yet. But I´m sure that this great forum will help me finding out what I need and want. That´s pretty much all i have to say so far cheers! |

By the way, this is one of the best, if not, THE BEST car forum out there. (Definitely better than the BMW forums )

Welcome from New York (but originally from Berlin/Germany)
Anyway, I just replaced my BMW 128i convertible with a new 370Z and I would like to give you my thoughts on it. The beamer was great, more luxurious, and the engine and gear box more refined. Overall I would say the BMW 3.0L 6 Cylinder is probably one of the best ever produced, but................. Reliability, especially on electronics, is not top notch. Driving the 370Z (my test drive, as I am taking delivery today ) was just so much more like I wanted a car to be, sporty but still comfortable. Not sure how to describe it, and you probably don't remember, but I used to have a BMW 2002 back in the days, as well as a Porsche 428S4, somehow the 370Z combines those two in one. Either way, it is different than your BMW (especially to your 325i in the power compartment) and you will love it. I also dont remember having seen many in Germany on my past visits, BMW are everywhere. Again, I will take delivery today and this is just my experience from the 2 hour test drive, but it can only get better from here, IF it is more reliable than my BMW. |

Thanks for your thoughts! I definitely understand what you mean and that´s basically the main reason why I consider the the Z as my next car. Also I read that the maintanance is nearly similar to my 325i so the Z is almost the only alternative to the BMW.
I look forward to read some experiances from the first miles in your new car |

Welcome and good luck finding and buying a Z. I speak from old school Z experience and being a long time Z lover front the old 240 days til now. I will say that the Z, aside from being a great reliable car, is also a culture shift from regular cars. The Z is an icon of our times and a symbol of doing a whole lot with a little. They have been pretty consistent over the ears making an affordable sports car with amazing technology advances and components without charging an arm and a leg.
I will actually be out you way the next couple weeks if you are interested in grabbing coffee and maybe even going on a test drive. I would love to grab one for a test and take it to the track but I guess so would everyone else. Let me know. Pm me and I will shoot u my info.
