Still waiting...
Hello.
My name is Randy and I'm still waiting for my 370Z which I ordered from Patrick at Sherwood Nissan at the beginning of April. I have a hard time getting information out of these guys and when I do, it seems contradictory. First, I was going to get an order number within a week. That didn't happen and when I asked about it, I was eventually told a story about how production was supposed to end in May, but because Sherwood is the biggest dealer in Canada, their customers were guaranteed cars SOMETIME THIS YEAR. Now I'm told by Patrick that he expects all of his orders to be here within the next two weeks. Very encouraging - has anyone had any luck locating winter tires for these things?? Preferably Blizzaks?? |
Should should have all order information by now. I have vehicles that are being built in July, and I have all the info on them. They will arrive in Aug/Sept

I'm still waiting (49 days to build, 44 days waiting for delivery) At least it's kinda comforting to hear someone has been waiting longer than I. 6MT just got his delivered yesterday and his car was ordered after ours. So in summary, there is no rhyme or reason on sequence of delivery. It would not surprise me that if we'll be waiting 100 days or more, from purchase date.
Make sure you ask for something from the dealership to compensate you for the extrodinarly long wait time. I'm talking free oil changes and free extended warrenty. If I didn't have the yellow color, I'd be cancelling my order and waiting for the 2010's just to save the costs of depreciation and loss of use for the year. Winter is only 2 and a bit, months away. Are you listening Nissan? ....... your Canadian customer service from Japan ... sucks! :shakes head: Quote:

Wow, Not very encouraging for me.
I ordered my car June 4th, and There is still no VIN number, and my dealership has no idea when it will come in. so its just a waiting game, I hope its not a 4 month thing! And as you said, its in no sequence. Loufusz showed me a order number that was put in on the 6th or 7th of June and he allready has a VIN number and solid delivery date on it, and yet I have nothing :( |
What's that Justin Timberlake song, "Cry me a river...":rofl2:

The only thing I would ask is do they really have an order placed for you? How do you know they just didn't take your info and are awaiting an allocation to place the order. You technically could wait a month and then they get an allocation and then your dealer places the order. I am not trying to stir the pot, but I would ask your dealer for n Order ID #. (That will prove everything) I'm not proud of it, but yes even I have done this back in the day. Takes the customer of the market and you wait a month until you can fulfil(that word never looks right) the order. The customer doesn't know, but you have the power to ask these questions.

Because the car hasn't been produced yet. This is normal for a vehilce that has been ordered before the acutal production month. Meaning if you ordered the car in June, but it was a July production, your not going to have a VIN until July, when the car has been built.

Here is what your dealer should be able to produce for you. Notice there is no VIN# yet in the top left. But if you look in the top right, there is a ORDER ID # and below that it says DEALER FIRM. This is what a true order would look like. |
ok, here is what I got from them last week:
http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/26.../370zOrder.jpg notice mine says the 4th of June, yours that you showed me some time back was the 7th I think. Argh, no fair! you skipped the line Lou!!! :p I can only think maybe this car order was for another person and not for me? -edit- wait, why does mine say "trades : from pinnacle Nissan"? |
Your all good, looks like your car should be produced this month. They traded for it. It was going to Pinnacle Nissan , but you can trade it virtually before it's shipped and it will ship to Planet now. Looks like you are all good.
|
OK cool, I thought maybe they ordered a car for pinnacle a long time ago for somebody else and were using this sheet to convince me they ordered it already, even though it was for a different person, thus the reason for not giving me a VIN number, because its not for me to begin with. (wow, runon sentance, hopefully made sense).
Did you run the order number and notice that there is in fact no VIN number? |
Here is your VIN# JN1AZ44E49M410350
