:iagree: i wanted a sports car, something that Looked and felt the part to me, like........ when i sat in the thing, it had to actually feel like you were in a Sports car. despite the Straight line power the mustang and camaro had, it just didnt do justice for me, when i sit in MY sports car, it better feel like one to me dang it! ........the Z was it for me....... besides the fact that there are a million camaro's out there vs the Z lol

BUT to each their own, you like what you like.

DEpointfive0 11-28-2012 10:33 AM

We can't beat the 5.0 or the LS3 IN A STRAIGHT LINE without a decent amount of mods...
Those do 0-60 in 4.3~ and a 1/4 mile in 12.7~
The closest you can get with JUST N/A would probably be in an auto with bolt ons (intake, exhaust, high flow cats)
The 370Z auto does 0-60 in 4.5~ seconds, and the 1/4 mile in 13~ seconds, and has been recorded as low as 12.2 all motor (probably without an interior and drag radials)
You CAN also change the gearing for better acceleration, but I don't know if anyone has posted official times with modded gearing...

Forced induction 11's

There is no replacement for displacement, but what's the point of the displacement if you can't turn while using it? (Honestly, I'm not racing, but I do like to accelerate quickly at lights sometimes, so yeah, I usually only use the straight line speed, but I get a laugh in the 370 over the Camaro/Mustang... They feel really lazy to me even though they aren't slow, just my opinion)

(I used motortrend for an apples to apples comparison, and our track times page for times...
http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...ack-times.html
I would've linked MT, but I don't want to link the mobile website since I'm on my phone)

the Z's not meant for drag...yah if you want muscle and raw power in a straight line then of course opt for the maro or stang....but start hitting corners, there's no match to the Z. sht if I wanted a great 1/4mi time then I would of bought myself the GT-R lol

Wait, so you can afford a GT-R, and you like cars that handle well... How did you end up with a 370Z??? The GT-R is faster in a line, a turn, upside down, on two wheels, and ANY other scenario you can possibly think of , lol

I'm bustin' your balls, but I just didn't get that part of the statement, lol

In any case, OP, good luck deciding what car to get,I (and let me assume 99% of this forum is the same) HONESTLY don't care what you get, all of us on the forum probably want another 370Z brother, and I'm sure we can all give you stories to persuade you like saying our Z's get us laid every night, but I'm sure the Camaro guys will say the same, LOL!!!

Just keep us posted, we all wanna see new shiny cars no matter what they are.
May I ask why Camaro over Mustang?

omm370z 11-28-2012 02:47 PM

My uncle got a camara and for me there is a lack of feeling. It feels like a huge and heavy thing.

Exactly right. I drove them both before the Z, and felt the same way.

also.... on my commute to work (typically 60 miles or more) On a slow day I can count 30 mustangs and 20 camaros.
I'm lucky if I see one z a month.
Same with the G's

Let me rephrase that...(clears throat) if I could afford the GT-R I would of got it, sht if I could afford a stang and a maro I would of gotten those too and just have a line of parked pretty cars in my drive way:yum:....like you mentioned above would love to welcome another Z brother but any vehicle you choose is gonna be a fine pick.....but the Z is still sexier lol

It is like for a thousand even way more camaros/infinities i see i can only see 1 350z and even less a 370z :tiphat:

tower74 11-28-2012 05:52 PM

Drove nothing but Cobras and GT Mustangs for years. Sat in the seat of a 350z and it was over for me. Then found my current 370z 6 months later and bought it on the spot after driving it. Now with it being FI (481hp) I must say HOLY SH*T do I love this car even more.
On top of that I see so many cameros driving around town. It's like all the cumstangs I see as well. Now the Z....might see 1 every 3 or four days.

I hate making decisions involving large amounts of money!

get a GT500.....itll "DESTROY" both cars.....itll cost the same as a 370z plus boost.....seems like thats what youre after lol.

if you want exciting, then get a 92-95 civic hatchback, drop a k20 in there and boost that motor. 4 banger that'll destroy both the camaro and 370z. itll be the cheapest option too.

:iagree: the Z is NOT a car meant for the strip or drag. its a delicacy thats meant to chewed slowly and enjoyed, not rammed down your throat with brute force ;)

ZKraken22 11-28-2012 07:12 PM

FI Z is rare and sexy. i'd go with the Z but hey i did go with the Z!
