new girl, AZ.

Hey guys, I'm Brooke. Lookin' to buy a 370 here in a month or two. I live in Arizona, and I'm by no means new to Z's. My ex-fiance and I built an HR 350 back in WA, but he dumped me and I never saw it again lol. It got a 5 page spread in one of the most recent DSport mags. Anyway, currently I drive a Benz and a lifted Silverado. I'm about to graduate from Universal Technical Institute in Avondale. If anyone else from AZ sees this feel free to say hello! Hopefully I'll see some of you around. And of course if anyone is selling their 370, let me know pwease!

Thanks in advance. :)

Welcome! Make sure to check out the classifieds here on the forum. You never know when you'll find something. :)

Xancara 11-09-2012 08:21 PM

Thanks guys! And yeah I've been browsing, believe me. :D I drove a 2013 today, but.. idk. The changes they made to the front fascia just don't do it for me. Looks too much like the hockey-puck-throwing front end on the 350 lol. Ick.

If that made any sense, haha.

Mikes350z 11-09-2012 08:34 PM

Welcome to the boards, what 370 you looking to get into?

blackcherry20 11-09-2012 08:38 PM

 welcome girl!! Browse around and join some conversations! :hello:

Thank you sir. Just lookin' for the 7 speed automatic with paddle shifters. My Benz is a 6 speed manual and sitting in Phoenix traffic on a daily basis has just ruined manuals for me for a bit. Plus it'll shift faster than I ever could lol. Other than that I'm not too picky.

I agree with you, the 2013 front end is a total regression to the brick faced 350. Definitely less aggressive looking that the 09-12 fascia. You can always go with an aftermarket or Nismo fascia I suppose.

haha... that was always the one thing I hated about my 350

Welcome to the forum :hello: Lol yeah sitting in Phx traffic with a 6speed can get pretty exhausting. I dumped my new crossfire when I first moved here becuz of it. After being here for awhile my leg is used to being numb :driving: good luck on getting your 370 soon :tiphat:

ZMan8 11-09-2012 11:59 PM

Haha, yeah the whole reason I bought my Benz was because it's a manual. And Surprise to Gilbert everyday just ripped away all the enjoyment. :P But anyway, thank you! Hopefully I'll see you around! You go out to the Pavillions on Saturdays?

LakeShow 11-10-2012 02:14 AM

I had an 11' Z and now a 13' Z and love the new one much better. The LED's look great and the new shaped bumper looks great.

The LEDs are a very unique look. The mouth on the bumper just isn't for me. Congrats on the new Z, to each their own. :driving:

Hi there welcome to this forum.

I really like it when a female joins the forum it seems all radars are being channeled this way.

Nice to know that the 370Z is your choice probably to replace your Benz?
But how about a replacement for your fiance would you be in the market as well?:hello:

Mr&Mrs 11-10-2012 04:17 AM

Welcome!

SPOHN 11-10-2012 07:02 AM

Welcome.

I wouldn't worry so much about the ugly 2013 front clip. Just go ahead and replace it with a front fascia and start making your car your own to seperate you from the rest of the Z's.

Cmike2780 11-10-2012 08:12 AM

I would look for later models after Nissan added the oil cooler if you're not thrilled with the '13 facia. Other than the wheels, that's really the only change worth mentioning. ...or you could always go with a Nismo.

Mikes350z 11-10-2012 09:22 AM

If I could, I'd try to sway you into getting the manual, but the automatic is fun and practical for traffic driving, since you are in phoenix I will say that whatever Z you choose, you will definitely need an oil cooler or an updated one should you opt for a 12' or 13' Z...

I haven't been yet as I have been in this TT Build since may. Once I get the Z back /fingers crossed the end of next week, I'm hoping to pop up there and check it out. Oh and surprise to Gilbert daily  I would opt for an AT also lol

NickTurnon 11-10-2012 09:46 AM

Hi Brooke!

I will be on the lookout for a good priced 7A/T in the area for you. I currently have an 09 auto. Love it. We have a ton of Z meets out here in the Scottsdale/Tempe/Phx area.

If you don't find one- you can ride shotgun

Ha. Thanks! I'm not sure I'll be selling the Benz just yet, it's nice to drive and it'll be my back-up once the Z starts going under the knife lol. And I'm always looking to replace him lol. :p

You have a very valid point. But I'd rather be happy with the way it looks and spend that money on something performance related.

Thanks for the heads up. If I find a nice manual for the right price I'd go for it. Just depends. :)

Nice! I can't wait to see it. I miss our tt'd Z. We got so carried away with it though. Stroked from a 3.5 to a 4.07, overbore to 96mm, sleeves, low compression pistons, billet crank, forged rods, ported and polished heads, the list was so long. And yeah, during rush hour lol. Hellish.

Even Hyundai's have LED's now, that fad is old already. Nissan missed the boat yet jumped anyway.............silly. My thing is why be a sheep, why not start the next trend instead of following everyone else.

Oh and welcome to the site, hope you find what you are looking for young lady.
