New 2009 370z! But some questions..

I gotta say, despite the stigma of driving a car like this in Alaska I absolutely love it.

But here's the deal..

I got this car slightly used (26000 or so miles), and already I am hearing noises and things that seem like they shouldn't be happening to a vehicle this new. The clutch engages at random points, but mostly near the top ofthe pedal, and there's a squealing noise when driving down the road. I can notice it when the window is down, but it is so faint other people sometimes don't.

Fellow z owners - is this car known for being clunky, noisy and quirky? Or should I be worried.. I'm ok with it if it is normal..

I have 25,600 miles on mine and I do not have any of these issues. I would say NO. Take it to the dealer to get check out asap. I assume warantee is out?

I have the 2009 Touring and other than the normal road noise you get in the cabin (soon to be fixed via Dynomat) there are no squeeling and clunking noises, I would be worried yes.

Nah from what I understand the warranty is on its last legs.

Also forgot to mention, probably because of the wonky clutch pedal feel it does buck a bit when driving around. Coming from a 2004 Gto, this seems like a lot of problems for a car this new/nice.

I have an appt to have it looked at, but it's weeks away. I'll listen to ideas until then, stuff to tell the dealer to look at when I take it in.

That's the problem with buying used. Was the first owner in Alaska? 26k Alaska miles is a lot different than 26k Texas miles.

Also keep in mind the clutch on this car is rough and not smooth. It's like a race clutch. I stalled the car like 50 times the first few months I was driving it. lol

Lol. I stalled it one time in reverse and that's it. But I have driven all stick cars and previous car was a truck with a really rough clutch, so I guess that coached me well :)

Frost, one of the mods is in alaska i forget which city. Like others have said take it in for a check up.

I will see what they say as soon as I can get her to the dealers.

In the mean time, any bets?

I am thinking throw out bearing, as the squeal and Whiney transmission sound are some strong symptoms.

All In all, a great car in every aspect

Hi

Further things I have found if this topic is still being read :

Oil change - clunking is gone. If I turn off SRM the squealing/squeaking goes away. It still stutters on starts If I have VDC on, but might be in part because I am Rollin on blizzacks in not winter..

Gotta stop by and say :hello:

Moved from Anchorage a couple of years back and can't wait to move back up someday. I agree that 26K Alaska miles are rough and if the previous owner drove it up the ALCAN that's even worse.
