7th gen maxima owner looking to trade for Z (Nismo Z vs Z)
Hello everyone
My name is Wally and im actually getting bored of my 2009 7th gen Maxima and im really missing the Manual transmission, since I alrdy have another automatic car i figured there is no sense in having the max. This being said I am looking into the 370z either NISMO Z or TOURING w/ VLSD & Navi. I am really leaning towards the NISMO Z because of the fact that the car comes with MANY upgrades vs the touring model, one of which is the body kit which is a plus for me because it comes out of factory that way vs getting the Stillen front bumper and taking it to a body shop n worrying about them matching the color properly or not (plan on getting it in white and white is pretty difficult to match from what ive experienced with the maxima) but I am keeping an open mind to suggestions but i figured for a few thousand more the nismo would be the better choice... Some things i would like to say before people make suggestions 1. I like the nismo seats, but not really feeling the knobs to move the seats =x 2. Navi isnt a issue because i would be getting the kenwood9990HD with reverse camera 3. Def going to be modding it with basic exhaust / intake mods until i get the GTM TT Kit. 4. Is the Stillen front bumper better then the Nismo Front bumper for cooling since Stillen states that its especually designed for the air flow into the coolers/Rad? What do you guys think? yeah i defiantly dont want the base model because it doesnt offer the LSD/wheels/suspension upgrade/brakes/body kit
the ONLY models that i want are the touring w/ sport package or nismo z but the touring price range seems to be very close to the nismo....$4,000 difference... |

If your looking to mod, get a sport Z. The Nismo is just so nice from the outside you'd be crazy to touch it.

IMO, unless you love the body kit for the Nismo there are not really any significant advantages over the regular Z. Contrary to popular belief, it is not faster, line them up and it is a drivers race. If the Nismo had a track ready oil cooler or other material changes we'd be talking.
Get a regular Z with the touring and sport package, the sport package being a mandatory got to have. You will get the vlsd, bigger brakes (same as nismo), Ray wheels (awesome!), synchro rev (also awesome!) front and rear spoilers for zero lift and splash guards. The touring package will give you leather, power seats, stereo upgrade and navi. The Nismo is Nissan's way of selling exclusivity, but there is nothing exclusive about being just as fast as a regular Z or getting beat by a regular Z that has removed the stock cats. Put the savings toward your TT kit. Hell buy a regular Z and throw in my Long Tube Headers (cheap plug but I'm local) and you will out run a Nismo. They weigh more too, never understood that part.

reason why im considering the NISMO Z Vs the reg Z is due to the body kit...i really like white because my max is white and i feel white is just the best color that shows details on a car and considering i would be getting the nismo Z for a little over 38,000. Im just afraid of getting the after market front bumper from stillen and getting it painting and the fitment not looking stock and the paint looking effed up .... ive just had pretty bad experience with getting my lip painted on my maxima.... I will post a pic of my max when i get home from work....facebook is blocked =(
I love the nismo Z body kit / wheels and the seats ....as far as navi goes i would take the kenwood 9990hd over stock navi anyday of the week. |

im the only person in the world with headers on the new maxima also the only reason why I got the max is because its 4door FWD (for the weather in ny, the max is a CHAMP in the snow ive drivin it thru every snow storm we had in ny) but considering i put the 370z rays wheels on and with coilovers I really dont put anyone in the back seat nor do i fully use the trunk.....and like i said before i alrdy have another 4door AWD car i could use in bad weather. i just bought my 12 touring , sport, navi etc..... not to long ago and my sticker was the same as the nismo, probably even more.
I like the nismo alot but i couldn't stand the cloth seats, i like the comfort features from the touring, the navi, auto seats, etc..... Also i wanted to stay more low key, the nismo looks way to fast standing still haha. |
