Howdy!
picked up my 2011 370Z Roadster on Wednesday. It's gunmetal gray with a manual tranny and the sport package. Man do I love this car! Traded my S2000 for her; I loved that car too but the roadster has taken it's place in my garage and in my heart.
This is the 4th Z for our family. It all started back when I got the wife a 350Z. She wanted a manual but all they had were autos. she loved it so much she settled for it. Then, a couple of years later, we had taken the car to the dealership for some service and she started crawling around the 370. next thing you know we are making a deal on that one (2009). Again, she settled for the auto tranny. Then, a couple of months ago, she decided she needed to have the manual. We traded her '09 in on a 2011 black touring coupe with the sport package. I enjoyed driving that car so much I had to have one for my own. Of course, I've have to be able to drop the top down. so now there's his and her Z's in the garage. I've been trolling this site for the last week or say and just want to say thanks for all of the tips. the first mod for my vert will be a spoiler; fortunately for me spoiler-solutions is in the metroplex so I will have them install one next week. Sorry for no pics yet; I've been too busy driving her and then had to put a good detail on her yesterday so she will be ready for work next week. Looking forward to meeting others on this site. |

Welcome and congrats! How do like the difference between the transmissions?

If you are asking about the differences between the Z auto and manual then I definitely like the manual much, much better. Never really liked an auto in a sportier car (my truck is auto but that's ok). I tried the whole paddle shifter thing with the auto but never got the hang of it. it just seemed not very responsive (especially after driving sport bikes on a race track). the manual is a bit of a pain in rush hour traffic but that's ok too. Now, if you are asking about the difference between trannies between the 2011 coupe and roadster then... when i picked up the roadster i thought the tranny was smoother than the wife's coupe (a lot smoother - thinking i was going to take her's back to the dealer to see if it could be adjusted somehow). but then, I had to move the cars around yesterday so I could detail the roadster and when I drove the coupe it seemed a lot smoother. I think i was having a hard time going back and forth between the the S2000 and the coupe but not sure. Bottom line is I love the manual tranny in the Z (especially the 'S' mode)! Hope one of these answered your question. |

Just wondering if anyone has dealt with Texas Nissan of Grapevine. I met the owner a few months ago, he was nice, but I wanted to see what Texans think of that store!

Congratulations on the new purchase. Enjoy Best color, too. Be sure you check out the Official Gun Metallic Thread
We got a exact same minus vert for my wife DD. She loves it, I love and it shows - we've put 17K miles on it since March 2011! pic here Purchased at South Point Nissan in ATX but it was shipped down from some dealer in oklahoma. |
