New member, hoping to find the "perfect" 370 soon

Hello all,

Long time reader, first time poster. I'm from Calgary and am on the search to find an 09 370 for the right price... And hopefully no more terrible experiences at the dealerships. Can't wait to join the club. :D

TerribleONE 03-26-2012 11:29 AM

welcome! lots of things to learn on this site!

lemon-fresh 03-26-2012 11:40 AM

Thanks, so I've noticed. The dealership that wouldn't even let me test drive the used Z they had is calling me, sigh... I'm hopeful, yet sad I have to deal with them again.

Pauly 03-26-2012 12:19 PM

i would kindly let them know that there is no way i would buy a car without test driving it. are they taking you seriously as a buyer? i hve had douchey salesman before, and that was the case. keep looking and let them know how you feel about it bro.

I would stay away from that dealership!

Welcome to the forum. Good luck in finding your perfect Z. Too bad we have to deal with crappy dealers in our searches.

Werd, and yes I did. The salesman was actually pretty understanding, I think the manager was the real problem.

I'm 27 but I look young so I guess people sometimes don't take me seriously, still doesn't forgive the fact that they won't let me test drive a used 370 without an offer lol (it's not a Ferrari guys). Having said that if I can use it to bargain for a good deal I'm all for it (pending a test drive of course).

I guess it's to be expected when shopping for a desirable sports car and not looking over 40 (no offense).

Welcome! good luck on your search!

Plus, don't ever ride a sport bike to a car dealership and expect any type of service or test drives....even if your over 40.

I would suggest you contact member 6MT ( http://www.the370z.com/members/6mt.html ) in Edmonton. He has a mint 09 PG with tasteful quality mods for a reasonable price. I can vouch for the car, it is gorgeous!

lemon-fresh 03-26-2012 03:04 PM

Heh indeed, I saw the ad for it, very nice. Unfortunately it's a little outside my price range (even factoring in the mods) so unless he's willing to do some hardcore haggling lol...

wheee! 03-26-2012 03:17 PM

Nope. It is as good a car as you will find and the price is a steal. The car spends most of its life in the garage and the owner has Terminal OCD.. lol! I know what he paid to get those wheels...

Maybe he will part it out and sell you the base version though.... ask him.

lemon-fresh 03-26-2012 04:56 PM

well that was fast, found one for $33150 all in (pending test drive) with 3000km on it.

wheee! 03-26-2012 05:30 PM

excellent find! Hope it's been treated well!

lemon-fresh 03-26-2012 05:34 PM

Thanks! Here's hoping

Niche79 03-27-2012 01:11 AM

For an 09, 33k? Is that good in the canadian dollar? I know its about the same as the american dollar atm so that seems high on an 09. Id love to find out more!

wheee! 03-27-2012 07:27 AM

Keep in mind that the Canadian version of the car comes with some extra equipment and retails for $10,000 more than yours (even though the dollars are basically on par). There are also fewer cars sold in Canada which helps keep the prices up.
I am always amazed at how little the US versions sell for yet how much people down there still complain of high prices! You pay the lowest price on vehicles in the world! Ask our friends in Germany, Australia and Guam what they are paying!
Enjoy your 'market domination' while you can!

rant off

In for more updates on the car you found OP!

lemon-fresh 03-27-2012 10:34 AM

Locking things down tonight hopefully more updates to come tomorrow and yea american Z prices don't equate, kinda strange. I still feel like I got a good deal given that the car has 3000km on it. Having said that mustang 5.0's are cheap as **** around here, very tempting but I would only be buying it for its 0-60 time lol.

lemon-fresh 03-28-2012 12:22 PM

I'll be picking up my Z tonight... Stoked! Pics incoming!

Now I need to sell my rsx lol.

Welcome. Love from the first shift.Nice got an 09' myself.

Of course I showed up dirty as hell, looking like a border line bum. The first salesman came out and almost turned right around. The second one came out and got the sell. Never understood why they would even not take someone serious. I never have "dressed up" or shaved when I have bought a new car. I figured if they are gonna try to screw me I might as well look how they treat most people. Now when I show for my oil chnges they are always trying to sell me a newer Z.

Yea man, I've driven some nice cars in the past and the 370 definitely isn't the fastest but if you are looking for a true 'sports' car it is the total package.

Agreed, I think they are just jaded by young ppl bagging the **** out of their sports cars on a test drive. Although if it is an issue the salesman should just go along.

09 red with the sports package and 2900km hasn't even seen its first oil change, which gives me plenty of time to buy a new steering lock :shakes head:. The previous owner also bought every possible dealer protection option, reinforced glass, extra clear coat, rust, leather protection, 3m etc.

Should have some pics by tonight.

tower74 03-29-2012 08:03 PM

Actually I'm an older guy with really good credit but try to hide it.
I have owned just about every type of sports car, with in reason (under $40,000) and the Z by far wins this race. Gotta love that fat azz of the Z.

nmjaxx9 03-29-2012 09:46 PM

@lemon-fresh- in for pics good color choice

lemon-fresh 03-29-2012 10:17 PM
