New Z in PA

This is a very impressive forum and the new Z is a great car. Brilliant silver coupe, 6-mt with sport package.
After researching CBE's, I've ordered the FI TDX w/ 18" resonators. Consistent with what I've read, Tony w/ FI is great and customer oriented.
The only downside is I have to wait 12 to 14 weeks, but I'm sure it's worth the wait.

Welcome and congratulations!!

Thanks for the welcome all.........to answer a couple of questions, I live near Exton PA and really don't need the test pipes at this point. I need to experience what I ordered from FI before making any other additions. Besides, I only have 300 miles on the z.

Then I would say waiting for mods to be built/shipped is a good thing. You definitely wanna get the engine broken in for about 1k miles, 1.5k even just to wear everything in properly. Then we can start going to work like mad scientists. :stirthepot:

I will buy the test pipes for $100 if you're still selling them.

 Holy he11 thats a long wait!! I know people love F.I. but there is probably no way Id ever wait that long for a CBE. Maybe if the gains were way above everyone elses. It is a great system though and I commend you for being willing to tough that wait out:tup: Congrats on the Z and welcome to the forum. Where in PA are you located??

rich conover 03-22-2012 05:11 PM

Ryan..........yes it's a long time, but need the miles and want what I want....which seems pretty good from what I've read. I live in Coatesville......

Oh its a great system for sure. Id say the #1 system. Rough wait though, guess perfection takes time. Coatesville huh, is that sorta near Pottstown? I have an aunt over there.

You can't rust a great product. It is worth it in every way though. It is as far as I'm concerned the top gaining exhaust. Subjective of course, but imo the best looking as well.

If buying new would be too long of a wait, there are every now and then FI CBE's popping up forsale in the used section. Just have to decide what setup you want from them... But you have to be quick, they sell fast. :icon17:

Welcome to the forum and gl with your car. Did you buy from Exton Nissan? I test drove a Z there while I was still car shopping.

rich conover 03-24-2012 02:07 PM

Yes......purchased at Exton Nissan. At first I bought the pearl white roadster although it was an 11, then found it had been hit in the front. Long story short, took it back and got the 12 coupe....no regrets.

Unless they got another one in I'm pretty sure I test drove your car and it sold me on getting a Z, but at the time I wasn't loving silver and was dead set on the touring package.

Ironically, I ended up changing my mind about the touring package and the color and bought a sport in Platinum Graphite. Could have saved myself a lot of headache and a pretty long drive if I just would have bought yours. :icon17:
