just got a Z did i get a good deal? how do i drive it????
hi! this is my first time ever posting in any forum of any kind but its my 2nd time owning a Z! i had a 350 about 4 years ago. (found out the hard way those things arent made for snow) I must say the 370 feels lighter, faster, and more agile. I got it monday for $29,000 its a 2010 base with Sport Package and 13,000 on the OD. traded in an 07 white bmw 328xi with 91,000 I was hoping to get some tips on taking care of it, like how long to let it warm up, and if i should avoid driving it in certain conditions. also is there a good way to find out exacly what kind of condition it is in? like should i take it to the nissan dealer and have them do an inspection or something? any idea on how much that would cost? also i want to get a nice aftermarket exhaust any reccomendations? thanks!

where is NWI? yeah i never drive mine in the snow but some people throw on blizzaks in the winter and put sand bags in the rear and are fine as long as you keep VDC on. you got an OK deal, not great but not bad either. Thats about what I paid for my 09 with the same mileage 6 months ago but mine has touring and navigation package

I have an Ark exhaust with Berk High Flow Cats, which sounds awesome. There are a ton of options out there, though - people love the Fast Intentions exhaust. With 13,000 on the clock, there's probably not a whole lot that can go wrong. It might be worthwhile to have a Nissan mechanic go over the whole thing - maybe when you get the exhaust installed (dealership will probably charge you an arm and a leg to install exhaust). |

Congratulations and welcome! First thing I would recommend is that you take time to review your owners manual thoroughly. Most of the basic care and maintenance questions can be found there. Then use the resources of this great forum by using the search function to obtain volumes of detailed information on the 370Z from others who've shared with this community. Lastly, engage with your fellow Z owners here and they will be happy to share their experience(s) with you. Again, Welcome!

Bringing it to a Nissan dealership is not a bad idea but that should have been done before you purchased the car. The price is not bad but I think the KBB on the car you are describing is in the the mid 20's so you may have been able to do better. Exhaust I would go with Fast Intentions. Use the search function and you can find alot of info.

As far as the deal. Uhmm. I got mine first Z two days ago BRAND new for $33K so for $3-4K more you could had gotten a new one and I'm sure you could talk them down a grand or two. I had found a Nismo 2010 17K miles on it for $34K but the interior looked beat up and I also found a based model 2011 5K miles for $33 which they were giving it to me for $31K. I chose to go with a brand new. Because 1- there's nothing better than know the car is brand new 2- you the first owner (especially when it comes with manual cars. You never know how the previously owner took care of it as good as it may look) 3- the smell of brand new is amazing ;-). Change the exhaust pipes and already should give you anoter 18+ HP so I won't feel as bad on the Nismo deal that I "lost" and honestly I don't like the Nismo body kid personally. Love the wheels though. Althought you had a alright deal in my opinion. Congratulations on the Z brother !!!
