Hello all. First post. Right now I am looking at 370zs hoping to buy one eventually. I have a question, however. Some may know that if you want to mod a mazda3, it almost HAS to be a Mazda Speed3, not just a normal Mazda 3. Does this rule apply for 370zs? For instance, is it better to mod a 370 touring with the sport package over a non-touring with no sport? Thanks.

No the differences are minimal.

if you are planning on getting aftermarket wheels, brakes, suspensions, wings, sound systems, etc, get a base. i dont think base has syncRev tho.. if u want it to be nice to start with, get touring+sport.. performance wise they are all the same pretty much.

Even the base AT7 has the revsync...it standard on all automatics. Otherwise I agree buy a base it's cheaper and then you have more money for mods.

I know all 7AT have it, but base 6MT doesnt have syncRev. Only Sport.

Sorry about where I put the post. I had a question on FI, but I got it figured out midway through the post. Also, no, I'm not trolling. I have a Charger but looking to get a Z. With the charger, if you have less than the 5.7L, you may as well not mod. It's too heavy of a car to get much HP out of. Plus, the SRT8 has forged pushrods and other tid-bits that make it easier to accept FI.

That wasn't directed towards you.:rofl2: I had seen a couple of guys were getting bent out of shape because there was no question about FI on your question so I went fishing. Little did I know I would catch 2 at the same time.

Oh look at that, thread got moved. OP it seems you are referring to modding as in obtaining more power. If that is the case, it makes no difference which trim you go with. Nismo is rated as 350HP instead of 332HP but you can't really tell the difference. If you plan on upgrading brakes, LSD and don't mind the lack of SRM, then go for the base.
