Hey from NJ

I'm currently car shopping, and am looking at an '09 Touring + Sport + Nav 6MT, black. I've been looking at BMWs as well, but the Z is just more fun to drive than the 328i and the 335i engine scares me.

Thanks for the archive of information; I've been searching the forum for information and it seems most of you are very happy with your cars.

Where in NJ? Im in Northern, Bergen County, BMW on Route 17 Prestige is very nice, was there yesterday as my brother has a 328xi, but they arent too great price wise so if looking to buy, buy somewhere else

hope you get the Z though, definitely more fun to drive, BMW is smooth and nice, but Z is a beast comparatively.

+1, well taken care of car and has a few mods already there.

By the way, not sure how you are comparing the BMW's to the Z. Both me and Jeff traded in our Z's for BMW 3 coupes. The Z is a 2 seater RWD sports car, the 3 series is more of a luxury sports coupe with 4 seats... there's a huge difference between those 2 classes of car.

Very nice car JeffBlue we have the same except yours is a 2010 and im an '09.

OP definitely get the 10's or up because they have power heated side view mirrors, my 09 doesnt have them heated and they fog up and are a PITA with snow and all the weather we have here in NJ

yes its a great color combo  their price isn't even that bad.

btw the car has full clear bra... (full hood, fenders, bumper, side skirts, mirrors,) a 2 way viper 3303 alarm with tilt sensor (don't have to worry about stolen wheels), and nismo exhaust with x pipe.

the paint should be pretty swirl-less, unless of course they 'detailed' it. but yea i took good care of the car, i never had oil consumption issues, gear grinding, or anything like that and i never launched or tracked the car. it'd be cool to see a forum member pick it up.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'm in Clifton. I did look at a 335i at Prestige BMW on Rte 17. There aren't so many CPO cars with the stick shift though.

Yeah, for sure they are very different cars. I've always wanted a sports car, but you know... time passes and all, and now I'm 52. So, I'm looking at both the Z and at cars that are still fun to drive, but a bit more civilized. I usually keep my cars for a long time and I'm afraid that I'll get tired of the raw edge of the Z. If you don't mind saying, why did you trade in your Z, and how do you like the Bimmer?
