What's up everyone. Names Mike. Looking to get my first Z within the next few months, debating whether I'm going to get a used 2010-11, or go for a new 2012. Looking for a PW or Black, Base w/ sport package MT. Looking forward to chatting and meeting new people, and learning new things about the Z. As of right now I don't know much, but if you need anything on aircraft maintenance I'm the guy to speak too.

Mike

Hey Mike, welcome aboard man.

OZOC (orlando Z owners club) will be starting up our meets again at the end of Jan so keep an eye out in the FL section here, the dates/times/location will get posted up. Usually meet either at Hooters by the airport or at Buffalo Wild Wings in Waterford Lakes.

if you've got any specific ?s about the 370z, don't hesitate to ask. :tiphat:

Sounds good, will definitely keep an eye out, and start a new thread when I get my Z.

I do have one question. I have been reading through many threads, and have seen that the only difference between the 2011 and the 2012, is that the 2012 comes with an oil cooler. I know there is probably a thread on this subject, just haven't found anything to specific on it. Is an oil cooler needed, if so can't I just save a little and put an aftermarket oil cooler.

/\ yes, the change in '12 was an oem water to oil cooler (aftermarket kits like mine, see sig, are air to oil coolers). Your oem cooler will help keep temps more reasonable for street driving and I'd reckon for some autox as well. HOWEVER, based on the most recent track (hpde) feedback on here, it is not sufficient for serious track use, esp in warmer temps. You'll still need an aftermarktet oil cooler like the Z1 unit I'm running. The vendors here are going to need to make a kit specifically for the '12+ z models since the ones for the 09-11 z's won't directly bolt up. I'd call Z1 or GTM etc and ask what the eta is on it.

I've decided to go with the 2011, gonna get a PW w/ sport package. If all goes well I should be getting it late January, early February. Thanks for the advice, look forward to meeting you at one of the meets soon.

Hey, Mike. My friend is the internet sales manager at a Nissan dealer in Orlando. Let me know if you want his contact info. There are plenty of great deals on used 10s and 11s...maybe even mine soon.

Before you get a Z better read the the Surgeon General's Warning about this site and Z's!

Seriously, hope you get what you want. It took a long time for me to find everything I wanted in mine. The great thing is, you can always add stuff later!

Hey Big Mike. I'm from Orlando too. Just joined the boards. Got me a Monterey Blue 370Z this past December.
