Geetings from Houston TX

Good Morning! just wanted to take the opportunity to introduce my self, I have a 2011 370 Nismo, Brilliant silver #0327, 7xxx miles on the odometer, 4 months old. Im a Machinist and a decent mechanic (imho). This is my first Z, and my frist Nissan(besides a Sentra I had for a few months back in the 90's).

I have owned over 30 vehicles in my short 25 years driving, and this is one of my favorites. I bought it in the search of the pure sport feeling that my third gen RX7 used to give me.

I tinted the windows (20%) all the way around, Had the DEALER install a GTM 25 row oil cooler(what warranty issue.... you installed it !!!) and have yet to check the front suspension for the forgotten spring spacers.

I will endeavor to post write ups, pics, and generally try contribute something of value at my earliest opportunity. this is to help me with my internet guilt complex (read tons off stuff NEVER ever posted anything).

so..... this is it for now, btw what the heck is this :nutswinger:?

Welcome. I see your already Nutswinging LOL. But for real what do you think about that Nismo so far?

pedZ 10-31-2011 09:57 AM

:worthless:

JP's 370nismo 10-31-2011 10:00 AM

The Nismo is great! good handeling decent acceleration and great styling. I get a ton of complements. The oil temperature issue was concerning me since it is super hot here in Houston. I would down shift to 3dr on the freeway and hot dogged a little bit and the temperatures would start to climb right away, now with the oil cooler it does not get pass 180 degrees. I feel the car is almost perfect, all it needs is a little more horse power. I think Nissan does not want to compete with its own GTR, but if this car had 500 horses it would spank half of the exotics out there!!

Ok, Im posting PIcs

Memorial area.

fuct 10-31-2011 01:10 PM

i roll around that side frequently, ill keep an eye out for ya.

congrats

p.s. with the outside temps dropping be sure to watch those oil temps. 180 is the minimum temp you want your oil at. it can be too cold.

Bring it down to msr. Tony Rivera has been very helpful with setup. He ran the GTR in world challenge. Next year 2 370z's. I ended up with swift springs, 1 inch spacers and nismo shocks. Car hangs out just a bit and rotates like my EP car. He has some perf. tips. How much did oil cooler set you back?

John@Z1 11-01-2011 08:34 AM

Love it!

VDC_OFF 11-01-2011 09:25 AM

Welcome fellow Houstonian! I drive down memorial everyday from Briar Forest to downtown. Maybe you will see me one day!

JP - why don't you come join the Z Club at Cars and Coffee (Vintage Park) this Saturday morning? Got to get there early (7:00 am), but it's worth it.

This past Thursday was sadly the last Red Meat and Race Fuel for this year, which is their low-barrier-to-entry open lapping + bbq thing. Any idea about when they start that schedule up again next year?

Also, I'll be out there Friday night and all day Sat/Sun for this class: https://www.thedriversedge.net/. Not sure if anyone else from the forum will be there this weekend, but I know a couple of other Nissan drivers I've run into at MSR will be there.
