Default Winter Storage

I purchased my 2010 Z in December last year. Stored on cement floor in large garage. Did not disconnect my battery but it was dead in the spring. Told to purchase battery tender that fits into lighter. However both lighter sockets are not live if car is not on. Any suggestions?

Here are some tips to help you store your baby.

Battery tender is a MUST, I have 3 of them all for my bikes and they work fantastic, no reason to disconnect the negative as well.

Put one of these inside your car so humidity does not build up to much.

Clean it!!
Do a full detailing for the winter, even though it is not going to be driven it is a good idea to store it fresh and clean so nothing will eat into the paint or lay on your paint over the winter.

I suggest
wash, clay, swirl and haze remover, polish, sealant "allow to cure for 24 hours" than any wax you want. "PM me for what I use"

Start it up!
Run it once or twice a month this way it keeps everything in the engine nice and lubed.

Cover it!

This way you can keep it clean.

PS Welcome to the forum.

In addition to above, also add fuel stabilizer right before you fill up the tank to full.

If you can't find Battery Tender brand, CTEK multi-use 3300 is a good unit as well. Canadian Tire sells that.

You could overinflate the tires by a few PSI too to reduce flat-spotting. Alternatively, I have these Flatstoppers...they're pricey, but a girl needs some pampering, you know.

Race Ramps - Flatstoppers - RR-FS Canada

I just found out about Fast Toys...they are a Canadian retailer based out of Winnipeg. I just bought some Rally Armor mudflaps from them for my wife's STi, and their pricing and shipping are reasonable and quick...just like a lot of US retailers...only they are Canadian so you don't have to worry about brokerage fees, duty, etc.
