The new guy
Possible future owner just trying to do some research. Looking between a 370z and a G37, leaning more towards the z. I drive a Jeep Wrangler now and will be looking for a second vehicle in the next year or so.
I drive this now http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3656/...59978a6c_z.jpg NewLift2 by grmncrsnbr, on Flickr This before it http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3367/...3f524174_z.jpg 052220104 by grmncrsnbr, on Flickr and an 2003 A4 3.0, 2002 VW GTI prior to that. Coming here to get some knowledge on the cars, and what I can modify on them. My first main question is how does the 7sp sequential handle engine modifications? I have driven manuals all my life and wouldn't mind a sequential if it can handle forced induction upgrades. |
Depends what you're looking for. I have a G37S right now and its been really good to me, but I wanted something with a more sporty feel/look. The G is more of a luxury coupe IMO (everything power adjustable, noise reduction, back seat etc.). I'm switching to a 370 because I don't use the extra cargo room, except to cart around my roommates (another good reason to switch lol), and for golf clubs which is also possible in the Z. If you get the Z fully loaded, you don't give up too many of the G's luxuries except for more directions to adjust your seat and stearing wheel (not that big of a deal). Also, to be honest, the Z is quite a bit more fun to drive, doesn't feel as heavy, and is more agile. Considering the fact that this is a second car for you, I'm assuming you're looking for a toy, which makes the Z a more suitable option.

Yeah cargo space isnt an issue with the four door Jeep sticking around. Good points too. Back seats are worthless in coupes for the most part as well. Luckily I have lots of time to figure this out as I pay the Jeep off. Thanks!

Welcome! Nice Jeep.
Ashburn, VA? If so, check the links in my sig. We have a pretty active 370Z community up here. |
Ashburn VA indeed! I'll check those out, thanks!

no prob. take your time. besides, prices are likely going to go down as we get closer to the winter, so plenty of time to decide.
