Trade up!
I came from a Civic and have forgotten all about it in the month I've had my Z. I had an 8th gen like yours (but a sedan) and am familiar with 8thCivic... good community. But man, you and I both know that "it's just a Civic" feeling. And really, when you think about it, the car is just your average sport-compact. Nothing special at all. Though yours is pretty damn nice with those mods! But the Z is just a better car by far. It runs low-mid 13s stock and dynos around 270ish to the wheels depending on what type of dyno you use. Guys with full intake/exhaust are putting down 320+ whp. That will put you into the 12s for sure if you have any clue how to drive a straight line. I say go for it! Drop the Civic and pick up a brand new Z... you'll never regret it. I doubt you'll even think about your Civic!

As far as mod prices... just some ballpark figures here...
Intake... roughly $550 Full exhaust (headers, high flow cats, cat-back)... $2,000+ Tires... the summers on the 19" Rays are very grippy to say the least.

Welcome to the forums. I like your car. 13.9 is a very respectable time. I have been a big fan Si's. I always wanted to buy an ep3 as a beater (was driving 350z at the moment). The newer si's are very nice. Great gearbox and not too bad power to weight ratio.
Before you buy your 370Z, you gotta ask yourself, if you can live without back seats? I think you'll love the upgrade. Good to have you with us and feel free ask any questions you may have.

12s for sure, and for a lot less money than it would take to get the honda in the 12s. |

why do you say vtec is a thing of the 90s. Have you driven a new SI. The vtec in stock form is subtle but with my current mods its like a turbo feeling. she pulls real hard with the right mods

You're definitely right about the class of car. It's a real step up.

I used to underestimate the power of V-TEC as well, until one of my friend gave me a ride in his S2000! From 6000 to 9000 RPM (VTEC range) = SICK! . But the problem I see is that vtec constantly want you rev your engine higher where VQ has the torque throughout the whole RPM. That was one of the reason I never drove S2000. Going from si, you'll love the whole-RPM-power of the 370Z. You can almost never be in a wrong gear.

The VQ has a lot of torque on tap at just about every RPM. It's great and was very surprising to me. This is coming from a guy who used to sport a 12second Mustang!!!
