Default Audi RS4 vs 370Z

Hi Guys,

Decided to join this very neat forum to ask for some opinions.

I had a 350z a long time ago and really enjoyed it allot.
From there I went to WRX STI

and from there I could choose between a 07 model Audi RS4 or a 2010 model 370z.
I chose the RS4 as it has 4 doors with 4 seats and still offers great performance... BUT after owning it now for a couple of months I can't help to wonder if the 370 would not be better... The 4 seats/4 doors novelty is not so important now all of a sudden and start to compare the 2 cars.

Has anyone here owned a RS4 and 370z? Please feel free to jump in and comment. I don't want to say too much as I'd like to discussion to take its own way.

Thank you very much for the input.

Regards
M

Own an S4 along with the Z, so I can give you a somewhat basic comparison but obviously not a perfect one. They are quite different cars in just about every way, the most obvious being your 4 vs 2 doors, and RWD vs. AWD. As far as driving impressions, the Z to me has always felt more frantic, which I think is the combination of the noise in and out of the car, sharp steering, and the VQ engine. My S4 is far more of a cruiser, although I know the RS4 is much more stiff and edgier. The best advice is to drive the Z, and don't go simply off your memories of the 350.

Hi,

Thanks for the input so far.

wish I could own both...
I have 4by4 pickup for daily use so my 2nd vehicle is purely for enjoyment over weekends and after hours.
The nice thing about the car like the RS is that even if you go to the airport with 3 or 4 people you can still use the car, where with a 2door/2 seater its more of a weekend fun toy for you plus one.

Perhaps I must get over it and use the 4by4 for those kind of trips... LOL.

Although the RS is very fast and strong it lacks excitement and thrill...
I think the 370z might just offer that...?
I almost get the idea its too clinical and too perfect... if that makes sense.

I'm making a plan to test drive one, lets see what happens.
Keep the opinions coming!

Thanks.

I've driven an RS4 and own the 370Z. If I could have had an RS4, that's what I'd be driving now. The exhaust/engine sound is intoxicating and it's plenty thrilling on a track. I think that you'll be annoyed with the NVH in the Z after having the RS4...the Z would be a step down for you. The RS4 is a much more refined car that is still extremely capable and fun. I just hope you bought the manual transmission. I could see the automatic being boring.

Sort of an unfair comparison isn't it? I don't recall how much the RS4 is, but what could you do with the extra money to make the Z just as good or better?
