G'day everyone
I'm James, I work for a tuning shop in Tasmania, Australia. I'm new to the forum caper so bear with me.... My boss and a couple of his mates bought some Zeds for track cars from America because it was so much cheaper than getting them here in Oz, and I thought you might be interested as we'll be doing a full build on them soon. So far we've stripped them totally naked (nearly brought a tear to my eye!) ready for the monkey bars to go in and we'll sell all the parts except the aero and maybe some of the dash, replacing them with motorsport-oriented bits. Exciting!
Anyway I'll provide some more pics-even if they're a little disturbing.... Cheers, J |
Welcome! :tiphat:
Look forward to see what you guys do. It's "funny" that you can buy a U.S. car and ship in half way around the world and still pay less. Gotta love all the different economies. You might be interested in this thread. These guys are racing a 370 in the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge. They are working on their second car right now and have a third in the works. You might even be able to get some tips from them. http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...ismo-team.html |

Confidyne's owner, Andrew Lawson, hopes to have his car ready for the 1-hour Production Sports Car Race at Mt Panorama (Bathurst) at Easter.
Some details on their website: CONFIDYNE MOTORSPORT, Ulverstone, Tasmania, High Performance Engine Tuning, Motec, Haltech Since he is the shop-owner, customer cars get worked on before his and whilst there has been a lot of progress in the past 12 months, it will be a close-run thing to get to Bathurst. |
thanks

Hey everyone, yeah progress has generally been slow unfortunately on this due to it being a shop car (doesn't pay bills!) and we've been waiting on a heap of new parts, some of which had to be designed first then manufactured (transaxle gearbox for example....).
We've also changed our approach to the engine, opting now for a stroker instead of a turbocharger. Still waiting for our stroker kit to arrive. Ditto for a set of individual throttle bodies. Apologies for such a long time between updates, don't get as much time to spend on it as is required! Posted a few pics, will put a few more up when I get the chance. J |
