Hello All.
Hey everyone, just wanted to do a quick intro since I'm planning on buying a Z in jan.
Live in Miami, this will be my 3rd sports car. Im coming first from a 400whp fully built, full suspension 04 STI and then from a 06 STI with less work done, only around 320whp, but even more of a blast to drive. I have driven 350Zs many times before, stock ones and some with more work done. Last one I drove was TT, full cage, full coilover race only 350Z on the track. It was a lot of fun but then the clutch went. Definitely thinking of doing some minor work to the new Z at first until some more "proven" stuff comes out like coilovers and full exhausts. Was thinking of just going all N/A and skipping the turbo this time around, but thats going to depend on how much power it can make NA. Anyway, Hello and nice to meet everyone ahead of time. |

Very Nice STI! Welcome to the forums. You're used to driving cars with 400 HP so I don't know how fast the new 370Z will be to you, but I think you'll like the car overall. Good to see you here

Thanks everyone!!
Yeah I realize its going to be a big step down in power... 400whp on the STI is like 500bhp because of the drivetrain loss. My current car has 325wtq...which is almost 400tq at the engine @ 3500RPM. I've driven the new M3 a few times and it feels slow. I have a feeling the Z is going to feel the same way. That being said, the Z is going to be much more fun than the STI. I really enjoyed driving the 350 even when it was stock. The plan is to bring the weight down to under 3150lbs and make 360-400hp N/A. I've been modifying cars for some time now and I have an idea of what I want to do to the Z. Just to name a few things; lighter race seats, lighter wheels + race tires set, painted carbon hood to get the weight down and closer to 50/50, 6pot AP Racing calipers up front (lighter and better), racing rotors, coilovers if good ones come out, a front splitter, larger rear diffuser, bigger swaybars, lightened flywheel for max response. Intakes, full header-back race exhaust, cams?... and this is where you guys are going to have to help me out because I dont know much about these engines and how they like to make power. I'd prefer to keep it extremely responsive so I'm trying to stay away from FI, but if thats the only way then so be it Oh, and as much downforce and mechanical grip as will fit in those nicely flared fenders |
