Default Found my new chick!

Hello, boys and girls. I have had a clean 91 3000GT VR4 modified for a while and loved it. About 2 weeks ago I was at cub food parking lot and this car pull in; nice curves, big ***, nice tits, lovely shoes, it felt like she was telling me I wanna f*$k with you. I instantly feel in love. She told me her names was Nissan Nismo.
So I started looking for mine then I found this forum. My little research so far says that the extra money to pay to get the Nismo is not needed but sorry, to me it has to be a Nismo. So I am looking for one, I have seen a 2009, and 2010 at an ok price range. Is there any significant difference(s) of the Nismo between those years? What are the common problems if any of the Nismo that I should consider when shopping?

I there really are not many issues specifically with the nismo's more then a non-nismo; still needs a oil cooler... and make sure the the spring spacers are taken out. They put these in for shipping, and make it drive incredibly rough; from what i read.

other then that there is a whole nismo specific section to check out!

Thanks guys, this truly is a sexy car. Can't wait to seat in my own. I have seen one that's 1171 miles away from me, will it be too much on the car if I get it and drive it all 1171 miles back to my home?? Any one know?, especially as I have read they need an oil cooler.

the biggest misconception on these forums is the need for an oil cooler.

unless you track the car...you do not need one. People on these forums brag about their oil temps being below 200 degrees. LOL!. synthetic oil doesnt work correctly when the oil temp is anything lesss than 220. anything under 265 and your fine.. if you REGULARLY hit 270+ i would look into it.

Don't fall for the hype.

Thanks make sense, but when you use number like 265 and 270 are you referring to oil temps? The reason I ask is cuz coming from a mistu, that will be really high oil temps.

correct. my dad has a z06 and those cars run a minimum of 190, and go all the way to the upper 260's....just like our cars. You don't see the z06 guys buying oil coolers left and right. (and they probably have more money to throw around)

Howdy and welcome to the forum

Crusing 4 hours from ATX to Galveston at about 80 mph mid-day at about 95 degrees my oil temp plants itself right about 240. I can easily hit temps of 240-250 with some very spirited driving in 2nd and 3rd gear. But I keep a keen eye on the temp and never push it for very long.

The long and short is, if you track this car you should get an oil cooler. If you drive the car on the street like you're on a track, you should get an oil cooler and gtfo the street and onto the track. If you drive the street with only occasional spirited driving and don't see the oil temps pushed past 250 for prolonged periods then you don't need an oil cooler.

Anyone that thinks they need an oil cooler for their car for the street has no idea how motor oil works... You want it hot.
