I had a 2010 Hyundai Genesis 2.0t until about 2 weeks ago, and before that i owned a pontiac GTP, toyota supra turbo and a nissan s14 240sx.
I have been looking around at newer cars and wanted to get more info on the 370z. I always find the forums very helpful

The Gen Coupe was a big let down for me...

I have driven like 10 of them, hoping, praying, wishing it would be better with the next one. Sadly... it never got any better. I drove every freakin' combination available and I really think that a stock Honda Civic EX is about as fast as the 2.0t. It is that slow.

The 3.8 isn't much better... once you look past the cheap plastic and leather interior, you still have to put up with the gearbox and the fact that it doesn't do anything when you floor it.

I drove the 370Z and from the very first drive I knew it was what I wanted. The 370Z is more expensive for a car with less options but it is a much more solid car than the Genesis is. Faster, higher quality, better engine and transmission and it isn't a Hyundai.

With all of the little quirks that the Z has, the Gen Coupe still has nothing on it. The ONLY thing I like about the Gen Coupe is the fact that the Touring model is around 30k and it comes with Brembos, blue-tooth, ipod hook up ect ect.

OP, have you ever driven a 370Z?

Genesis, the Z has some issues, as all cars do. One thing you'll notice, obv, is that the Genny Coupe has a back seat, small as it is.

Some of the common issues that I recommend you search for on this site are: oil overheating on track days (which can be fixed with aftermarket oil coolers), road noise, cheap paint, and there are a handful of others.

The biggest problem that I've had with mine in the last year is that I can't get the sh**-eatin' grin off of my face no matter how hard I try.

yeah i have talked to 2 of my friends that have the 40th anv and a nismo. they have both talked about the oil overheating. Hyundai really let me down on my car, they forgot to tighten the tranny fluid plug and it slowly leaked out. I took it to them complaining of the tranny making noise and acting weird. they said everything was ok so i started modding the car, intake, BOV, piggyback, and turboback. took it back in because i figured out what they did and the told me i took out the tranny and the entire car was voided. By 5K miles the seats were comming undone and the stearing wheel was pealing and voided.
