New member/First Z/10 Nismo/Excited!

Hey Guys, my wife and I are soon to be a first time Z owners and are really excited! Our newest editon to the family will be here hopefully this Friday(6/11) , we have been waiting it seems like FOREVER!

We ordered a 2010 Pearl White Nismo, we were stuck on the color and decided to wait for almost nine months! I was worth the wait, we have a factory oil cooler and the color we want.

I hope to meet and share some great information with everyone in the near future. Mike

Awesome! Grats on the purchase man!

Great color and good call with the oil cooler, especially if you'll see any track action.

Thanks, I don't think the car will see any track action but I do have my eyes on the Stillen S/C. It has been about two years since I have done any tuning, it will probably take me a couple months to brush up with mapping and prgramming.

Wow, great looking car! My wife is pretty set on not touching the exterior, might take some easing into! Or some Z meetups!

I just read Vipor's thread about coil spacers....WOW! That is pretty crazy, that will definatly be the first thing I check when I get to the dealership!

Gotta do your headlights! :stirthepot:

Thats sexy! Did you have to seperate the lense cover or does the HID housing come straight out the back?

So ironic, I just finished with registration and some post on this site and the dealer called, I can pick her up tommorow after the pre-inspection. :happydance: I told the dealer also about the coil blocks, he said he had never heard of such a thing....could be interesting!

Ditto

Here's mine. If you do them, I painted the refector where his are orange at. So it does not reflect orange out, only when its lit can you see it. Up to you.

The spring spacers are used while transporting the Nismo Zs. If the dealer hasn't dealt with Nismos then they more than likely won't know.

To do the headlights you have to take them completely apart. Caravanshaka did a good write-up and actually helped me with mine. Thankfully he lives [somewhat] close to me.

You painted the reflector that the blinker sits in?

I was told that using the metallic coated bulbs would remedy the orange look as well; haven't tried it yet.

Yeah i didnt feel like buying a bulb. So I just painted the reflector housing black

I like it, I will check out Caravanshaka's write up. I have traditionally used the oven at 350, turn off and throw the lights in for 10min is a great way to loosen the compound between the housing and lens, then just separate, do your dirty work and put back together with some 3M window weld.

I still have to get some close ups of the light but would some VHT Nightshades sprayed on....THE RIGHT WAY...do the trick with the blinker lense and go with LED & resistors?

EDIT: Just read caravanshaka's post, I didn't realize he did LED's also. I was actually referring to LED orange blinkers with the resistors so they blink correctly.

I was going to go with baking them. But there was too much stuff to take out or risk melting. I went to home depot and got a heat gun, after I had it out and was disassembling it. Worked out just as good. I returned the gun the next day.

Thanks again guys, I pick up the car in a couple of hours. Looking foreward to talking with everyone in the near future.
