New to the forum IS350 owner thinking about a Z
Hey, Hows it going everyone? like my title said I drive an IS350 about as modded for performance as you can get . I am looking into getting a 370z, I think its about time to move on . One of the biggest reasons I came to this forum is to learn about the car before I buy it... not from some salesman who knows less than I do and not from a friend who knows this guy whos heard of this shop who did a quadruple turbo kit making 5400whp. Now, as far as my IS350 went, I had the fastest IS350 on the west coast doing a 7.9 in the 1/8th and a 12.6 in the 1/4. I had Intake, exhaust, 100st dry nitrous spray, and weight reduction. Like I said above modded about as much as it can be... The ecu is BULLETPROOF and the car cant be tuned. There is another option. That is a supercharger, but for 6 grand for 50whp and 5Psi, I dont think so. I blindly bought my IS350 thinking I could build it up to around 550-600whp only to be disappointed due to my lack of research on the car. Im trying not to make that mistake twice
Heres a pic of my IS for those who care. |

You will have no problems modding your Z if you choose to get it... but what are your aspirations for the car? do you drag it a lot? do you track it?
If you are in it for the 1/4 mile - then sure get a Z and mod the crap out of it... but if all you are looking for is a track day / autoX car - the base Z is plenty capable w/ a few odds and ends settled. I would recommend you go test drive one and make sure its for you - its going to be a LOT less smooth than your IS |
