Pleased to Meet You!
Hey Everyone,
I'm looking into buying a 370Z and thought I should sign up to the forums as there seems to be some good information here. My current history of cars is as follows: 1. Mercury Topaz 2. Honda Civic Si (99) 3. VW Jetta GLS (02) Like most people I've always wanted a sports car. My list of ones that I was interested in has the usual suspects like: - Hyundai Genesis - G35/G37 (used) - 370Z - RX8 I just really like the looks of the 370Z and I hope I'm able to get it. I really liked the yellow colour but I can't seem to find one here in Alberta that has the specifications that I like (Sport Package and 2009 since the yellows only came out that year). I've decided that if I do get a 370Z it'll be a black with persimmon leather interior along with the sport package. I've taken the car out a couple of times for a test drive you can hear a bit more road noise than my Jetta but that can be expected since the wheels are bigger and thinner (17" on the Jetta). The blind spot is a huge issue for me but I'm sure with proper mirror adjustment, those small mirrors, and just getting used to it I'm sure I'll be okay. One thing that I did find odd was the clutch. When I geared up and released the clutch the car would always lurch forward like I wasn't timing it properly. My girlfriend didn't appreciate it much as it was making her sick (or so she claimed). This is not a normal issue right? I'm not claiming to be the world's greatest manual transmission driver but I have been driving one for ten years now. Could it be that the clutch is significantly different than my Civic and Jetta? Maybe I just need to rework my timings because it's a different car? Silly things like this worry me. The only other issue issues are visibility and trunk space. In this car I can't see as much as my Jetta. I guess it has more window space (again, comparing a family car to a sporty car). Same with the trunk space but that's why I'm keeping the Jetta too. Also, I've noticed a few complaints about the paint on the cars. What's the deal with this? Anyways, just wanted to give my thoughts. I still have to drive the Infiniti's and see how the compare to the 370Z. Since they are luxury cars I'm guessing they might be a bit quieter. Anyone have experience when it comes to ride quality/noise level between a G35/G37 and a 370Z? I look forward to contributing as much as I can! Last edited by CaptainSlow; 04-27-2010 at 02:10 AM. |
