Was wondering if anyone has had trouble with unlocking their car with the button on the door. After repeated attempts it does not unlock until I dig out the sensor

2010 370Z Roadster unlock mechanism ?
Was wondering if anyone has had trouble with unlocking their car with the button on the door. After repeated attempts it does not unlock until I dig out the sensor from my purse and unlock it that way. Inside the car to the left of the steering wheel the dial shows me a picture of a key.
 It has done this a few times now. It used to always ulock via the door button-I must have done something unknowingly. Any ideas?
