As for the car in question, here's the deal. Someone had scratched this car from the front fender all the way to the back of the rear door. The scratch was relatively deep. To make matters worse, they use blobs of touch-up paint to attempt to fix the scratch. After seeing how much worse the touch-up paint looked, they attempted to wipe the touch up paint off the car. That did nothing but smear the paint everywhere. The final dagger was when they parked the car with the paint still wet in what appeared to be a sand storm. Here's what the car looked like after I finally noticed it (I didn't notice this when I picked up the car because it was overcast).

Actually spent several hours this weekend working on it. I didn't wax it well enough last spring and then a full season of auto-x left many black cone marks that were difficult to remove, especially along the rocker panel (poor quality paint and clear coat down there). One little spot left to work on and then I'll be breaking out the Adam's polishes.

What mods you got on that C5 beast?

You won't believe this but the only engine enhancements that I have are a K&N filter! That is it. On the other hand, I have a 500hp El Camino with a stroker motor in it. That beast is a blast to drive but it only gets like 12 miles to the gallon!

After all the upgrade headaches that I had with the El Camino (4th engine to date), I decided that I will never mess with the Vette. Talk about a financial black hole... :shakes head:
