Thinking of getting a Z
Hello,
I am thinking of making the switch from M3 ownership to a 370. I love my bimmer it is a 2004 Carbon Black SMG with 57000 miles. It is a blast to drive but I have always admired Z cars and the new body style is pretty sexy. What are the some of the costs of owning a Z? Would the 370 make a good daily driver? What are the costs of maintaining? Is there room in the back for a large suitcase? Thanks in advance. |

Normal costs: Oil change 50-100, tires are about 350 a piece and are rated for 15,000-20,000 miles I believe.
I daily drive my Z (manual) and very happy with it, it can be a pain some days with traffic but when the traffic breaks up I love it. Maintenance cost are probably around the same as other cars, the Z does not really use anything special. Define large? Welcome, Houston Z here also.

as for the suitcase question, I have never had a problem fitting luggage in my car. but i do usually use a large duffle bag instead of a "hardshell" rectangular suitcase, and i have 2 12" subs in the back.

I pay $89 for my oil change (Ester oil)
I just put a new set of rear tires on (17500 miles) same as factory for $704. I am sure you are used to premium gas prices with your BMW. I can fit a set of golf clubs and a medium sized duffel bag in the trunk. I own a manual as well and you will get a calf workout in traffic, but it is a sports car and it should be a manual! I get right at 19.9 MPG city and around 25 HWY The 370 is a great car and the looks you will get and the way it drives makes it worth it! |
