What up, who reads these?
What up all. I'm just outside Memphis, TN. I just recently took an interst to the 370z. I've always been an away fan of the 350 (non-owner), but was never in a position to own. Now, after a few years of hard work, I find myself in a position this April (VW lease will finally be up) to get in a higher level car than I'm accustomed to. A week or two ago I was a 100% go on an Infiniti G37 Sedan with some goodies, but recently I've been torn between the infiniti and the Nissan. I'm sure I'll be happy with either choice, but I'm curious to hear other's opinions of the two vehicles. Here's a quick list of my thoughts on both:
G37 Sedan Pros Interrior will blow away the Z, 7" screen included whether you get navi or not. capability to drive coworker/friends around same great engine cons not nearly as flashy (outside appearance) heavier won't fair as well in curvy driving due to length Z Coupe Pros panty droppin exterior obviously more sport oriented Porshe ability at Nissan monies serious amounts of mod capability Cons Shorter Warranty (hey I'm getting close to 30, concerns change) Can't bring anyone along (could be a positive?) interior isn't all that great (i'm not really into the pods and the LED gas gauge) Anyways, That's just a little background on my screen name All thoughts welcom (good, bad, or ugly) Thanks, |

Yes and no. I didn't like the additional cost, and honestly (in my opinion) I don't care for 4 seats unless it has 4 doors. People can really tear a car up getting in and out of a vehicle that only has 2 doors.
So, comparing Z to G37 coupe, I'd pick the Z. Comparing G37 sedan to G37 coupe, I'd pick the sedan. Another thing that tilts me towards the Z is the fact that our other vehicle is a 2008 Toyota RAV4 (my GF's car). It does have good room for people, and of course I made sure we got the V-6 (269HP, 246TQ), It's fun to drive and it's our everyday/everything vehicle. |

I had a G35 Coupe for 3 years and was very happy with it, very well built car, my dad liked it, so I sold it to him.
I've owned the 370Z for 9 days now, and I can tell you one thing, fun, fast, for the win Z. ;-) Who needs all those people tagging along anyway, one of them is bound to spoil the fun. Grab a good friend or a girlfriend and go for it. I think it boils down to weather or not you really need to carry 4 passengers. If you need to drive clients or customers along for work or if you have kids, I'd get the G37 sedan. If not get the Z. One final thing, get a good test drive on both cars, you will know then. One more thing, I've had so many people comment on this car, on the street at gas stations, work etc. All the feedback on the looks of the car exterior/interior have been super positive. When they sit in it I've had several people say that they felt like they were in an a more expensive exotic sports car
I have the touring package/sport and nav, Platinum graphite with the Persimon interior. |

The dealer had it marked up 5K over MSRP, it took me 2 hours to finally get it at MSRP, could of prob got a little extra off, but I was too tired to deal with it. The Touring model comes with choice of Black, Grey or Persimon leather interior. I think the touring is $4,300 over the base. That includes the leather seats, ipod integration, blue tooth phone, bose stereo and subs. Sport package is $3k and Navigation package is $1875. |

I personally prefer the Z because of the sportier feel that the car gives off when compared to the G37 Sedan.
Again it will come down to where your priorities lie and what YOU prefer. Go test drive, let us know how you feel. Hopefully the fact that the Z feels amazing to drive doesn't win you over if you should be buying the G37 haha.

Went and saw the 370Z in person today and sat in it (it was on the showroom floor, so no driving). I have to say that both myself and my girlfriend are about 98% convinced that this will be our next vehicle. The thing in person is absolutely beautiful! I was worried that in person it would seem small and "wife's car" like, but it was the exact opposite it seemed large and in charge. It's soooo wide!! Man it looks so amazing in person. They had a standard platinum graphite with sport package. Now I had always thought that I would get the touring package with the sport option, but after today I'm thinking, do i really need that crap? I'm not buying a sports car because of it's stereo (not a big bose fan anyhow), power seats aren't that important since it's only a two seater, I'll set it up and leave it alone, we did want leather, but for how much more the touring vs standard is it worth it? Heated seats??? WHO CARES!!! my *** is going to be on fire when I'm doing 150 on 385 (just kdding, wouldn't actually do this). What else, map holder and cargo cover, please, I could care less. The homelink rearview mirror would be cool, but were talking about a difference of $4,530.00 and the only thing i really want out of it is the homelink and leather (not worth it in my opinion). I left off bluetooth, but I have this in my other vehicle and it's not all that great.
What are everyone else's thoughts? |
