Default New Member....Looking to get a 370z in summer

hey guys I'm a senior in college with a job offer starting in chicago in August. I currently have an older anniversary Camaro Z28, which I definately won't be taking with me, and I may end up selling to help with a down payment on a new/certified preowned car.

Currently, the car I'd like to get most (without test driving anything yet) is the 370. I'm hoping to possibly pick up a leftover '10 in the summer or maybe a certified pre-owned 09/10.

I'll be living in Chicago but my transportation to work will be the metro, so this wont be a commuter car. Its use will definately be limited to shopping, dates, out of town trips, etc. Therefore, I'm not really worried about the RWD aspect. It wont be driven in the snow or if it will, Ill get some winter tires.

My main questions are what kind of specials do you think Nissan will be running on these in the summer into the fall? How much could I pick up a base level or sport coupe for? I'm really not trying to spend more than $350-375/month on my payments, and so specials are going to be critical in determining how much I need to put down.

Thanks!

AMack, You won't pick up a leftover 2010 until late fall at the earliest. Doubt there will be any new 09's on any lots by summer time, so your best bet may be a pre-owned 2009. Your goal of a monthly payment of $350-75 on a 2010 with Sport assuming you can get it at or near invoice would require a down payment and or trade of around $12-14,000 for a 72 month loan at an interest rate of approx 6%. These are ballpark figures to give you a general idea of what you're up against. Various sites have loan calculators for you to work out the different scenarios. Good luck, it's a wonderful car!

Portlander, does Nissan offer 72 month financing? I know that not all manufacturers do...

As far as the down payment, thats no problem for me whatsoever. If I sell my Camaro I should be able to get at least $10k for it (its only got 35k miles), probably closer to $13k... If i waited until I started working to purchase a 370 I could use my signing bonus towards the down payment too.

And when in the year does Nissan tend to run its best special offers?

Hi AMack,

I’m not sure what the situation is where you live but I just ordered mine in Montreal. The only one "IN CANADA" that had the specs I was looking for was in Vancouver. AND, the only one I could find to even try was an hour out of Montreal and it was an automatic!! Also, my company deals with Nissan for our fleet cars which means that we get really deep discounts on our company cars. (Yes, my up ‘n coming puppy is a company car, how sweet is THAT!) The Z however was the only Nissan that they couldn’t discount. They said something about how Nissan wants to limit the number of Zs on the market.
