you'll get a new car discount a student discount (through geico atleast) if you show them good grades. However your age is going play against you, I'm assuming you'll pay for it yourself since you plan on buying the car yourself. There is no comparison to a tC, fwd vs rwd, and way more power, it's a great value for the $.

Welcome to the boards. You'll find there is a lot of useful information and for what it's worth, always try a search before posting a thread on a "stuck hatch" or "what oil is best" etc because a lot of it has been covered numerous times. (not saying you've done that, just heads up )
Sorry to hear that you totaled your Tc.

Im not trying to be a hater here... But im with them with the insurance going to be high!
Also probably best to just get a cheaper car for daily driving... I remember starting out i drove an 86 toyota pick-up for a while, until i could move to a honda accord 1995 model. Until i finished college first, then i started buying good cars. My best advice is make sure your priorities are straight first. There will always be cool cars to come, but u want to make sure you wont be stressing out on school, life, payments and insurance.... Best of luck man...

i totaled my tc by being stupid, and i learned my lesson in a very hard way. lets leave it at that...
as for the insurance, there is no way in hell the car is going in my name...the tc wasn't even...i just give my parents the money for the car payments and the insurance. i'm an 18 year old full time student and part time worker, busting my *** with 2 jobs for nothing but this car, and i just dont make enough money to insure the car in my own name. it would make no sense to do so. i'm probably looking to get another scion tc, just because i had put several thousands of dollars of my own money into the one i had, and the majority of the mods werent damaged in the accident. they are going to be removed from the car tomorrow morning, so instead of worrying about how i'm going to sell it all, i think i'd rather throw it in another tc and rock with that until i can put a heavy down payment on the z. and for the "search before posting", thanks for the heads up, i know how it works though so its all good. |

With a name like rice eater though...well, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now :-p. If you TRULY want a Z, then I'd recommend parting out for tC and getting a POS daily driver. I had a 91 Dodge Daytona that I bought for $350 and it lasted me 3 years with almost 0 maintenance, and dirt cheap insurance. Your parents (read, their insurance policy) will love you, and you'll save beaucoup bucks.

After driving a hand me down toyota pick up for a few years and graduating my budget was enough to start getting better cars. fast forward 12 years later and me 30. I now own two Honda s2000`s 04-05, 05 Acura RSX-S for daily and this Nissan 370Z. I traded my childhood dream car evo for the better more matured car in the 370Z. I truly hope that u can afford the 370Z and would like you to be part of our community. But if you are in a limited income, God forbid something major goes bad on the car, it will definitely stress you out where to get the funds to fix it. best of luck... Wilson

Man I live in a high risk area and turn 25 tomorrow. My insurance SUCKS. It's higher than some car payments out there but still the cheapest in my area.
And well, it's also higher since I prefer to carry uninsured motorists coverage and all that due to ALOT of people in DFW not even having a license or being a citizen LOL |
