Very nice man. Flashy yellow FTW. Your Rx8 reminds me of a Rx8 here in my area. I was in the car with "onethreefive" on the highway and this yellow RX8 just came outta no where and wanted to race us. We didn't do anything illegal because we were on a public road. He ended up doing a ricer flyby anyway

Do you have any problems with the engine? There seems to be a lot of TSB out for the engine problems in earliar years.

No problems with my engine so far have done over 75,000 km our cars here in OZ seem to have less problems than yours in US , different states of tune and fuel etc .

The biggest hurdle is the crappy Mazda mechanicks they told me my engine needed a rebuild when really all that was required was a new set of ignition coils .

I purchase most of my spare parts from the US Mazda dealerships get them delivered within a 6 - 10 day time frame at 60 % cheaper then i can buy them here in OZ

I have my own rotary teck guy so my car runs fine , but its time for a change , i hope the 370 Z has the extra torque that rotaries lack and has the refined handling of the RX8 .

Cheers

Here in the states, the RX8s are notorious for engine problems. I also remember many complained about bad gas mileage and oil consumption. But those kinda expected with a rotary engine. You see, many people aren't use to the rotary engines.

The new 370Z will a very interesting car. It has all the right ingredients. I am very excited to see what numbers in puts down on the Magazine reviews

Most of the problems were related to owner driver and dealership servicing misdiagnosis problems , however the 9000 rpm redline keeps the Doctor away if you know the secrets of living with a rotary .

Agree Gas mileage sucks , SPECIALLY IF YOU DRIVE IT HARD

Some cars were burning more oil than others .

Because US allways gets cars AT LEAST 6-9 MONTHS before OZ you guys are the test pilots for us Australians we learn from your initiall results tests etc , the state of tune was far better by the time we got our cars here in OZ

Cheers

That's cool man. You got a good one. I WAS researching that car before I bought the Z but man, those website really scare me away. It revs upto 9000 RPM . I think that's something I can live with .

So, we are the guinea pig for you guys, huh? Which is cool, because by the time all problems are fixed, you guys get the trouble free car. BTW, did you ever have engine flooding problem? Someone told me that once you start a RX-8, you can't turn the ignition off for 3-5 minutes. If you do, then you can't start the engine right away...is this true?

Some cars were more prone to flooding than others , but mostly with people who know nothing about rotaries i let my car warm up for about 1 minutes let engine warm up keep revs to 5000 rpm once engine fully warmed then go for it .

Reading the negative stories does put people off , but if you do your research and get to know the rotaries quirks it can pay off nicely .

I have had 28 cars in 35 years the RX8 Is the only one that has kept me interested for 5 years each drive puts a smile on my face and i am hoping the 370 Z will give me even a bigger smile .

Most likely i will keep the RX8 , after i purchase the 370 Z with 3 sons 2 already driving it wont go to waste

Cheers
