New to the370z.com, but not new to Nissans
Hello all. I currently own a 1989 240SX Fastback. I dumped way too much time and money into it, but I really love the car. I am counting my pennies at the moment in hopes of picking up a 2010 Z. At the moment, I am hanging out in the desert, drooling and daydreaming over and about finally owning my dream car.
It it funny because I learned to drive on a 280z. Since that day, Z cars have been my favorites. Once I could afford one, I couldn't justify buying it. I chose attending Morgan State University (education) over buying a TT Z32. It hurt. 5 years ago, I picked up a Sentra SE-R Spec V instead of a Z33 because I thought I needed 4 doors and fuel economy for the good of the wife and daughter. That hurt also. So I picked up an S13 Fastback (Euro spec CA18DET) 4 years ago. It was in horrible shape and I nursed it back to health in the 3 years that I was in Europe. So now that I am about to be free again, I had Zerolift Autolab find a decent S13 Fastback and do a 1JZ swap. I have yet to drive it, but now I have a chance to get a Z34. I may just take a loss and sell or even part out the S13, but that is still up in the air. I have owned 1996 Altima GXE, 2004 Sentra SE-R Spec V, 1995 240SX SE, 1990 200SX SE (Euro S13 Fastback w/ CA18DET), and 1989 240SX Fastback (1JZGTE). I have always installed suspension components before upping the power. Handling is more important to me that acceleration/power, but the rush of blasting out of the corners on a road course or European alternate route is where it is at.:driving: i know it was long winded, but I just needed to get all of that out so that you would know my background. Be easy....... ROplusBee => ROB |
nice Rob, welcome :hello:
i cringed a lil when i saw you type that you had a S13.0, but then I saw you say you actually had a Sil80 and even a Toy motor. good taste! |
I am pretty close to closing my deal on a 2009 SR NISMO (#0093). If all goes well, I will pick it up as soon as I get back from, ummm, my current location. I am looking forward to connecting with some of the other TX folks on the forum also. Woohoo!
