Don't have a Z but sayin hi :)
Hey everyone..just wanted to let myself be known since I've been a lurker
Don't have a Z and not sure if I will get one but definitely a fan..sat in one today at my local nissan dealer and gotta say it's tempting to pull the trigger on one lol..my 07 tC is almost paid off so I'd have a hell of a trade in but not sure if i want to jump right back into a car payment... one question though - anyone else feel the view out the windshield is a little low or is it just the seating position I happened to have in the one I sat in? otherwise that was my only complaint. so anyways..hello |

Welcome to the forums! Plenty of people started here as a lurker and then bought their Z. You'll find tons of info on our forums. Goodluck!

I traded in my 07 tC for the Nismo. Words cannot express the enjoyment and excitement that this upgrade brought.
I miss my $250 car payment (more than doubled) and my 27+ mpg, I'm not gonna lie. I have noticed zero issues with visibility in the rear view mirror, and that's with the larger-than-sports spoiler.

Thanks for the warm welcome and it's nice to see some former scion owners on the board!
Yeah I would definitely miss the MPG and the lower car payment but gotta make a few sacrifices right? especially when the Z costs (give or take) double what a tC does :P Hey who knows maybe i'll end up a Z owner myself..only time will tell I don't think i'd hear the end of it from the g/f if I bought a two seater but that would be another sacrifice..the nagging! lol I have access to a sedan anyway..grandmother has an 06 corolla xrs..and she's hadsports cars most of her life...a 280z, a vette, and a fire bird formula...so I don't think she would mind if I told her "grandma I need the corolla today..you wanna drive my Z?" It might cost double (I came from an 07 tC) but I can happily say, its worth every penny. Things I miss: Lower payment, 87 Octane, 27 MPG... Things I don't miss: Seeing my car everywhere (seriously, when I got the tC, no one had one- 6 months later, I couldn't swing a dead cat around without hitting 3), Crazy insurance premiums (my insurance rates actually dropped going to the Z - a whole 4 bucks).
Getting into my car is a fun experience now - I viewed the Scion as a lego set for adults. The car basically fell apart when pulled in the right places. Having pulled both cars apart, its interesting to see how much better made the Z is. the tC was a fun car to learn stick on - but the Z is in an entirely different league |

yeah insurance on the tC is nuts! I wouldn't be surprised if my insurance cost would drop if I got the Z..and yeah you should see my college man..tC"s EVERYWHERE..
I have a couple things done to my tC that I don't see anywhere else but either way..the car is a dime a dozen on my campus..and that's just the days I go to school which is monday and wednesday.. |

I dunno, I'm a newbie as well, especially towards RWD.
I traded my Subie for it. Though sometimes I regret the switch due to missing my bike racks and 4 doors but I do enjoy the gas mileage and overall enjoyment from driving it. The blind spots are an issue to overcome at first but the same can be said from any car to another. It takes some getting used to, especially getting the mirrors just right. All in all, the only MAJOR downside is the location of the power port when I need to charge my phone (which doubles as my mp3 player/Pandora radio). I miss my 4 doors but I dunno, it feels right to drive the Z daily. |
