Hi from Texas
Hi Guys and Gals,
First time post, but been lurking for awhile, and I'm close to squeezing the trigger on a Z! I appreciate all the great knowledge and insights I've picked up. I've owned sports cars over the years but never a Z. I didn't really like the 350, but I like the lines and interior of the 370 much better. I first drove a 6MT, Sport, back in August and loved it, but got busy at work, and by the time I got serious again, the roadsters were out, and they are sweet as well. Plus there's still a good selection of coupes in my area and the deals are much better. Now if I can just make up my mind on those great choices....manual or auto? sport or non sport? red, silver, white or black? Wow...there are no bad choices!! |

Can't go wrong! There are some threads on this forum about sport v not - do a search and you should find many opinions! Ihave a base and will build up, but sports a great value for what you get.
My votes for best colors are pg and pw. There's a color poll on the forum that is worth a look. Good luck!

I've heard from a lot of people on here that the 7AT is great regardless. If you're even considering not getting the 6MT, then it seems like you will not be dissatisfied with the auto.
Color on the other hand is preference. If you're layed back about cleaning then I would go with the silver. Red is a hard one for me to comment on, just not my color. My white is awesome IMO and I love it when it's clean. It does take a lot to keep it that way. Black also looks great but I've heard takes even more to keep looking good. Also.. I'm sure there are some differences from color to color, but I HIGHLY recommend a speedshield (clear bra). I already have a few chips in the hood and even one on my rear driver quarter. I also have a fair amount in my bumper, but being the Nismo and not the stock one, I just chaulk it up to that. (Whatever helps me sleep at night lol.) I got quotes at about $700 for a half hood/fender and $1,100 for the full panels. If you'd like I can refer you to the people I spoke with, as they were highly recommended when I asked some people. What part of TX are you in? Definitely hit up a key thread: [Texas] sign in

Thanks for all the great feedback.
The other hard choice that I didn't mention is a new one, roadster or coupe? I was sold on the coupe but took a look at the roadster, and it is well done. It also solves one big problem with the coupe....when the top is down, visibility is no longer an issue! I've had verts before and enjoyed them. I never really considered one before because I thought the top on the 350z was ugly. Weather isn't a problem. I'm in San Antonio, so there's top down weather most of the year. |
